Swiss Mil. Surplus 20Ltr Water Storage Bag

When camping out of the truck/car...always used hard plastic water storage cans, either the blue round ones with the white spigot or US military cans.

Recently for canoe camping where we needed a soft bag type that also was easy to tie in...so...I bought off of ebay a pair of water bags described as "Swiss 20 liter water storage bags" for $24. plus shipping of about $11. They are a heavy black reinforced vinyl material with a very nice heavy spring loaded spigot. The spigot screws off for filling/quick empty. Nylon rope with vinyl tubing handles on both ends. The ones I got seemed "new". Workmanship, design and materials seem first rate.

I cleaned them with a good soap rinse, then a sanitize rinse with bleach and water, and so far they meet my needs perfectly. The bag also can be left out in sun and hung upside down...works as a fair shower set up.

For the price of other options I saw...this was a good deal at about $35 for a pair.

I am not related to this seller in any way...but this is easier (for me) than posting a photo...

Anyone else using these?

I have this same bag. it's great for hanging off the side/back of my vehicle next to the food prep. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't roll up well.

For handwashing, I have a simpler solution: I use the plastic liquid laundry jugs. After they're empty, I rinse them a couple times and move them to my truck for rinsing after surfing.

Then, the next time I go camping, I fill with water and put them on a table with a bar of soap next to them. With a little care, one of the large ones will last two people for 10 days of handwashing.

You never get the soap totally out, so they're not good for potable water, but for washing hands, they're fine.

After a while, the sun gets to 'em, and I put them in the recycle bin at home. But I've managed to reuse them several times before then.

Oops. I just re-read the posts. The first reply mentioned food prep, not the OP. Sorry.
