any new reviews on the duratracs?

If you can find some, snag up a set of the Dunlop M/Ts... great hybrid. have had mine since spring, and couldnt be happier. Only tire I found with the snowflake on it....but, I believe they were stopping production, as it was competing with the duratracs....

I'm on a Hummer forum and the owners of duratracs in the 285/75-16 and 315/75-16 say they're a gift from God. They all claim they're worth the extra couple hundred.
How's the wear on those Dunlop M/Ts? I like their mt/at style, but was worried I'd be getting mainly an MT as I do mostly paved roads with an occasional rugged off road.

I just bought 4 duratracs for a 2007 Nissan Frontier. I paid about $1000
I love them but here is the deal...
Be realistically. These are a hybrid tire and trade offs have been made, so understand them.
They are more noisy than a AT less than a MT.
They ride harder than a passenger car tire (P). They are indeed a truck tire (LT).
I was pleased with the original tires but these are better. They are almost as good as the originals on the highway and around town. They are great in the rain even when pushed. Very good driving way too fast on a little maintained gravel road. I have not tried them yet in snow, mud or sand. No off road rock climbing yet either.
Some report a squishiness or "wandering" but I've found none of that. Maybe E load should be considered for for a F-350 dually. I don't know, I got C load for my sized truck.
I don't know anything yet about tread life.
I consider my application to be a daily driver that will not stop for snow or rain with frequent trail riding and no technical crawling.

Goodyear Silent Armor snow tire
Give the GY silent armor a try. I have owned most every major brand AT and MT tire and the Silent Armors are the best nonstudded snow tire I have used, and they are the quietest. I think the kevlar makes them quieter. they have a great mileage warranty. (I am not a tire dealer.)

I like my silent armors as well since I do mostly highway and a little gravel, nothing hardcore.
I've got 6000 km on mine now.
I've managed to get a flat from a staple through where the sidewall meets the tread. Kevlar doesn't make them indestructible.
I keep them at 65 psi for the f350 since I have big loads regularly. At this pressure they break loose easily on a slight hill and damp grass. due to the one flat already I'd be concerned about airing them down to get a good sidewall bulge.
They were great in the snow.
They clog quickly in sticky mud.
They don't look overly aggressive if that matters to you.
You can't go wrong with their tread wear warranty.
If I was doing more offroad or playing in the mud I'd probably look elsewhere. For the mostly road vehicle that goes off payment now and again they're great.

Installed them 9/25/09 and now have over 17,000 miles on them. Did fantastic in the snow last year going places that the year before I had to lock in to get to. ( Ran BFG ATs then) Was at an Offroad park and forgot to lock it in on one trail but it walked on through with out any problems.
Wearing great although little noiser than say the BFG's of course.
I'll buy them again when these wear out.
