Hey guys,

You know I realized that I have never posted on this excellent site. I have, however, used it's forum as a resource countless times, just never had a reason to post. Well I thought I would share my Land Rover. I maintained a site for the entire build process. That can be found at http://www.disconomad.com.

My latest mod has been integrating iPad as a central navigation tool, that page is here.

Anyway thanks to everyone who helped me along the way...it's been a really fun ride.

Cheers!

Perfect rig. Been a huge fan over on LRRF and LRO. Wish you had dimensions and a CAD file for the IPAD bezel and holder. CNC machine is just screaming my name if i had the specs.

Trucks been all over areas of Texas and now resides in Northern CA where I use it to get to favorite extremely remote fly fishing locations in the high sierras. I'm having a great time exploring areas of Cali! I've been building it for years so it's really dialed for me personally know. I don't think I could ever part with it.

I'm so impressed with the level of quality of the rigs on this forum.

Thanks.

Very clean rig. I like the $G bumpers on your rig with that lift. It looks balanced.

I also like the Hannibal rack and awning. Good choices.

Only problem I have is the iPad. The install is clean and functional.

However, I am trying to avoid purchasing an iPad. I almost bought one when they first came out, but was trying to avoid impulse buying. Now they have been out for several months, and I'm still trying to avoid buying one. I want one really bad.

Your review and examples of the mapping apps has not helped my cause. Makes me want one even worse.

Yes I know... The apps that are out now are even more amazing. MotionX really is doing some amazing work.

Great web site!

What size tires do you have on there? When you went from 2 to 3 inch lift did you also one up the tires, or are the pictures deceiving me?

Yes I did. The link to that article is http://www.disconomad.com/DiscoNomad/Blog/Entries/2007/4/30_Rover_Tym_3_inch_lift.html.

I went from a 265 to a 285 tire size. The 3" system on the Disco is exponentially more expensive then a 2" but honestly it does wonders for the trucks ability and believe it or not the ride. I urge those who are between the two to just save your money and make the jump to the 3". I did three different lift systems on my truck when I should have done one. Oh well you live and learn. RTE is in my opinion the best 3" system. Again thanks for the kind comments.
