What are you trying to fit under it? I trimmed 4.25" off the lower front of my front fenders on mine. More for fitting the Offroad design bumper. I'm running 33" tires on 4"inches of lift. That leaves me room for snow chains if needed.

I wish I'd went with 2.5" lift and more trimming. Oh well, it is paid for.

Look on CK5 forum. You might have to be a paying member to view pic's.

Here is the front of my 78 and I took 2.5" out all the way around. Mind you, this was a trail buggy so I wasen't to concerned with looks lol Oh and those are 31's with no lift

Head out to Pirate, you'll have all the fender trimmed '73-'91 you'll ever find.

Also have an old K10 with a mild skyjacker lift on 32's, been thinking of 37's and trimming it. :snorkel:

No, no….please don’t cut the fenders on that clean Sub! :yikes:

Once you cut that metal, the fender will start rusting even if you don't live in a salt throwing state. Just make sure you are running plenty of lift for the tires you chose and don’t get ridicules with the tire width. I never cut my fenders but did massage them with a rubber mallet a bit on the inboard side of the rear portion of the fenders (you can't see the massaging unless you really look for it). I can post pictures later if you want to see them. The tires have made room for themselves as it is. They do rub once in a great while but nothing serious even with the swap bar disconnected (I am running ORD front shackles and sway bar disconnect as well).

yep love to see pics! i kind did the same thing already with my tire:Wow1: but only i can notice it now. i wasnt looking to do anything major, maybe just the part that sticks out past the inner fenders like spur has done to his 1991 cummins burban.

Did someone say fender cutting......:Wow1:

Honestly, if you can, buy 'glass fenders that are nice and opened up. The blazer/burb is harder in the rear for sure, but not impossible. I wouldn't be too worried about cutting the front, but the rear is much harder to get right on the 'burb. I do have to say. The fender mods on my truck are my favorite. Being able to run large tires with no lift is SOOOOO nice.

I run 40's on an 87 k5 with 4" of lift and very minor fender trimming. I have always had to trim the horns off the front fenders with 35's and 4" of lift. I have had zero problems with rust from it ever. But I always spray it right after wards.
