Zodi Extreme. No longer being produced?

It seems that no major retailers are selling the Zodi Extreme shower except for Cabelas and they list it as backordered. What's up with that?

We use something like this on ocean voyages where water is scarce. Has a lot of advantages, lighter, simpler and will not bang around. Instead of having a dedicated stove just for your shower, use your camp stove instead. Boil up a pot of water and add to some cold water in the sprayer. You now have enough hot water for a shower. Keep water in the shower and leave it in the sun to warm up, the black color will raise the temperature some. Keep it around camp and you always have running water to wash your hands or rinse dishes.

Oh, and did I mention it is about a fifth the price

The Zodi will be getting new stock of the Extreme Shower units in next week and shipping out on Tuesday. AT should have them in stock by Thursday.

This stuff isn't rocket science. Well maybe it is. Personally I like the atomizer that comes with the bug sprayer. A lot of good engineering work went into them. If you cut the wand down so it is short, it works great. Pump up the sprayer a lot and it literally blows the soap off. I can get a good shower in under a gallon and my skin feels really good and tingly. Out at sea you can shower with less than a quart. I prefer deck sprayers because they are black and if they have a nice wide funnel mouth it is even better. The one on our boat is a Sears and I think we have had it probably 25 years now, it is heavily modified but that is part of the fun.

I will not get into it but I think Zodi can do better with the Extreme. An example, the sprayer wand is right off a Solar Shower and a little crude for this application.

You have a point there...I do look forward to tinkering with stuff. One certainty, if what I've read is true, is that I'll be replacing the sprayer on the Zodi.

With the Zodi Extreme I'd recommend replacing the shower head with one with an on/off thumb activated switch and throwing away the heater unit that comes with it.

Good things about it are it's stainless steel, can go right on the stove to heat the water up, has a temperature strip showing the heat of the water, 3 gallon capacity, seems to be indestructible.
