Wife for sale..

Wow! That guy went nuclear early! To be fair to that girlfriend, she may have just wanted him to get rid of a lemon and get another vehicle he liked that would be more reliable so she could spend more time with him, maybe even time spent on trails or trips, but there are plenty of girlfriends and wives that go the "dream killer" route.

For the record, the original post in this thread, and it's title, are quite obviously tongue in cheek - my previous comments were more serious because they were in response to the two comments I quoted, rather than the original post.:)

Nice. This post was just for fun, but wow what a response. I would love a 109 wagon then she would really start to freek out. I think someplace in her that she likes my discovery, she just knows how much I love it soo it gets her off to bust me up about it. She has her hobbies I have mine.
So, she's just jealous of your affection for the car, then? ;) Seriously, though, it's not uncommon for wives/girlfriends to have jealous feelings towards inanimate objects that the bloke has strong affection for (commonly cars or bikes) - it's a bit of a messed up defensive condition comparable to seeing their man spend large amounts of their spare time with another woman, or is sometimes just seen wrongly as the man wanting to get away from the partner because they don't enjoy their company, like some sort of escape mechanism, as happens to anglers and other time consuming hobby followers.

My wife said today after driving my Disco to the store that she hates it.
Looks like its time for a new wife......

My wife said that while we were driving in Portland in the 109 SW. There was a heater-core leak inside the cab, it was raining, the heater was cranked and there was condensation all over the inside AND outside of the vehicle. It was dark, we were in traffic and she leaned over and said, looking me straight in the eyes, "I hate your truck".

I ended up buying a Range Rover Classic.

Don't sell your wife, sell your truck.

My GF says I would have more $$ if I didn't spend it on my vehicles, too.
Then I remind her, that if I didn't prepare them the way I do, we wouldn't go to the places we go.
Life is a comprimise(sp)... especially with the ones we love..:ylsmoke:

"Im blocked in so Im taking the Rover to the store"

"My truck is out of gas so Im taking the Rover"

''Im concerned with the long term effects of the Gulf oil on the enviroment and local Gulf economies, so Im taking the Rover to get milk for the morning"

Thinking of getter her an LR3 soon so I can get my truck back.

Not a Rover, but a Jeep anecdote (hope its welcome :) )

There was quite the standing argument between me and the ex wife that I loved the jeep more than her and spent more time with it.

Well. I still have the Jeep :)..

Those I've dated since then have had to deal with the TJ on the 2nd or 3rd date. The 'new' (if you can call 2.5 years new) chick got the pleasure of the ride for our 2nd date being the shakedown run for the TJ. I had literally just finished welding up/installing new control arms, put a super 88 kit in the rear, reworked a few of the airbags, etc..

I picked her up and she asked how long it has been running since I put it back together, I answered 15 minutes.. Got a bit of a surprised look, but she's still here :victory:
