Picked this up last week. '06 F350, XL package. 6.0 PSD, auto, A/C, power windows and locks. 129k... she's just broken in. This will not be a fast build... EGR delete and coolant filter kit are first, followed by tires. Looking at various patterns in the 285/70R17 size.

I have the EGR delete and coolant filter kits, I'll post some info about installing them in the next few weeks.

I just got a 2007 F350 LB Dually and i love it.
after you do the EGR delete get an SCT tuner from MKM! They did a great job for me 19.5 mpg!!! on the highway.

I want to get 35's!!! with a 2" leveling kit.

Good looking pickup. Can't wait to see what you do with it! :bike_rider:

EGR delete and coolant filter will be a nice upgrade.

There are a variety of leveling kits available for this truck, all of which raise the front end by 2-2.5". With such a kit, many people successfully run 35x12.5" tires without issues. For a few reasons, I don't want to run a tire that large.

I'm thinking that instead of raising the front of the truck by 2+ inches to level it, I might lower the rear suspension to level it. I don't frequently carry heavy loads. For the same money as a leveling kit for the front I could lower the rear and install a Firestone airbag kit to maintain ride height in the event I do have a heavier load.

For my desired tire size (285/70R17) this seems like a good compromise.

I just bought an 02 f350 sb supercab and lowered the back by switching out the rear blocks for blocks from an f250. I plan on running either a 285/75/16 or 295/75/16.

I would rather it sit level for the 90% of the time i'm not hauling anything than the other way around. The carrying capacity stays the same.

Solid truck. If it's got 129k miles and it's running well.. I'm guessing all the 6.0 issues have been taken care of, or you got one of the good ones.. :)

If i don't go with the 35's (most likely will not :( ) I would run 285/75/17's on my dually. I still want the Icon 2" level kit stage 3. I think it would realy help improve the ride. I would like it a little softer and i love the idea of a dual rate spring :) I just really want to keep my mpg's UP i got the H1 for offroad and the F350 to get it there ;)

I would love to see some pics.

There are quite a few of us on here w/ reg cab diesels......

Nice to see another RIG in state.... someone to share my inspection woes... haha...

Anyway, nice looking rig man.... I wouldnt lower it..... if anything, leave it be.... My SD would settle pretty good when loaded.....

Humvette,

You have completed a similar mod package to what I'm planning on as far as powertrain. Could you talk about how you like the performance of your truck? I don't think I will be adding an aftermarket intake but I am interested to hear what you have to say about the muffler-less 4" MBRP and your custom SCT tunes.

If i had to do it again i would do all the same things. I got everything form MKM Customs.
-4" MBRP fit up amazingly well. Make sure to tighten the bolts with an impact gun. Then retighten in 1000 miles or so. Not too loud. Actually my fiance did not even notice it with the windows up. When you stomp on the gas at 50mph and break the 4 rear wheels loose she seamed to notice :coffeedrink:. The truck really moves! I love the sound.
- SCT all the way. Talk to Mike P at MKM Customs very nice guy and they helped me trouble shoot and FICM issue that came up.

I get about 19.5 mpg at 65 mph in a long bed crew cab FX4 Dually!!! on the Performance tune 420 whp and 830 ftlbs. I just got my economy tune and i will be testing it in a couple weeks. Lookin to hit 22 mpg at 65 mph :victory: I don't know why people drive toyotas LOL. (i really do, but this mpg is just crazy). The tuner said that i should be mid 13's in the quarter mile. No i don't race, but just a referance point.

- Make sure to do a FICM 58v Swamps upgrade, EGR Sinister Delete, and new injector pump spring :)
- Always run gauges...
- might want to think about some extra filtration ie bypass oil and coolant filters :)
- Regardless get that POS Ford Gold Coolant out of it!!! before you blow up an EGR. Previous owner blew up 2 in the first 72k miles :Wow1:
Just my thoughts
