PRICE DROP TO 17,500

There are also some pics on ACC Toyota's Facebook page. "Like" them on Facebook and look for "Blair's" pic.
Asheville, NC $22,500 or trade (read on)

My family has a 1971 FJ40. She is a major part of my life has been my daily driver for quite some time. My wife and I are "planning" for a surprise addition to the family in September. Our son is nine now and we've had some really good times together, partly because of this truck. I intend to buy a Tacoma double cab 4wd or Ram Cummins short box quad cab 4wd, as we are moving soon and I think I might enjoy having a truck. So if you have one you'd like to trade, I may be interested

The truck is rust free. PLEASE KEEP READING. This is the bad stuff- There is a small dent on the center of the hood that has been filled in. This winter the bondo cracked and is now visible when the light is right. I hate body fillers, so I bought a new hood. It just needs to be prep'd and painted. There is a support bracket under each of the front fenders that were welded? at the factory. The seems can be seen through the paint on the top side of the fender. I'd like to get that fixed sooner than later. Again, no rust. The headliner was brand new, until it came unglued from the roof one hot day. There is currently no headliner. The drivers seat is beginning to separate on the lower cushion at a seem. The truck came originally with no rear seats. I found some and had them refurb'd and powder coated. There are some little rust holes in the base or the seats but are now powdered and won't be of issue. The seatbelts are original and are dingy looking.

NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF- Atlanta Custom Creations recently (January) built a 2F / 4 speed for us. (The motor came out of an 87 FJ60 with 80k on it. It was removed because the owner was doing a conversion on the truck) We can cruise at "GPS" speed of 67mph at 2500 rpm. The speedometer shows 60. The block was inspected and then painted. New head installed, Saginaw Power steering was added. Bosch gear reduction starter, new high output alternator, One piece header, all new gaskets, hoses, clamps etc etc. Everything else was powercoated. If it was raw aluminum from the factory, it is now powdered clear. If is was black from the factory, it's now powdered black. Just a beautiful motor. Rebuilt, but apparently wasn't needed, 4 speed transmission. It is mated to the original 3 speed transfer case that was also rebuilt. All the work is warrantied, along with most of the parts. The paint on the truck is outstanding and is about 3 years old and is desert dune beige. I have a truck soft top (as seen in the first pic) but the hard top is on currently. The heater is new. There is a Ramsey 8000# winch on the SOR bumper. Rear pintle hitch. Rear EZ locker diff, SOR padded roll cage. All new OE window seals. All new OE door seals. TYuffy Center console with hidden and waterproof stereo pocket. Outdoor speakers (they are kind of crappy). I'm 6'3" and had the seat rails for both front seats modified so I could COMFORTABLY drive. I've done long distance trips with the truck and am ok for about 3 hours at a time before I need a stretch. All lights and gauges work. 33x12.5's BFG MT's (not km2's). The tires are in great shape, and have almost 5000 miles on them, but are nearly 8 years old. Rocker panel sliders are welded to the frame. Two sets of off-road lights., reverse lights, under truck lighting. etc. Feel free to come up with an offer if you feel froggy. If you're looking for one of these, then you know the value will (hopefully) continue to increase. It's very difficult to sell an item based on what it could be worth, however. NADA high retail is 22,500. I am really not in a hurry to sell other than needing a truck of sorts in the next six to eight weeks. Come by to see and drive it. We have plenty of room if you need to stay with us. We can also pick you up from the airport if you'd like to drive it home. Shipping can be arranged also. Thanks so much and good luck.

I'm doing my best to get a lot of new pics up and viewable. I'll have a solution up and running soon.

Thanks again. I know she won't disappoint.

It's really a strange feeling. I feel kind of bad about feeling sad. I should be excited right now. Maybe this is a matter for a different forum, but thank for understanding. I really wouldn't have even considered selling if it weren't for the one in the oven. Maybe there won't be any resentment toward the baby.

...maybe there will be

Beautiful 40!!!!

I almost bought that FJ60 from you last year but decided to buy a 40. Do you remember me? I flew out to New Mexico to get it.

That right there looks like my dream 40 though!

Bump to the top for a SWEET looking rig!

If John over at Proffitt's Cruisers wasn't finishing up my 40 right now I would be VERY tempted!

Sweet truck, and good luck with the sale!

We had a little "surprise" of our own last year after we both decided one was enough. Turns out we were both very wrong and this little guy just plain rocks. Congrats on the kid, he/she will bring you alot more joy than some inanimate object ever could I'm sure. :)

Blair,

Is this Alex's old 40? If so, i can attest and say this thing is beautiful. I wish i was in the market.
