Weigh in on your lift choice

Should I be looking at the OME 885 up front as well? When do new UCA come into play? I am looking for a bomb proof set up for hunting, fishing, and light to moderate wheeling with a 33" tire.

opinions welcome.

I have the 5100s on my '02 Tundra set at the top notch (2.5"). I picked up a nice used set of OME 885 coils today to experiment with. At first glance the 885s seem way too long to use on the 5100 shocks at bottom (0" Lift) setting. I plan to pull my TRD coils off and do a full comparison to the 885 coils to hopefully be helpful to other 1st Gen Tundra owners so stay tuned....

Very cool. Keep us posted.

Thanks for all the good advice. My 5100s should be here early next week. I should have them in the following weekend.

So are you keeping the Tundra Go4lo? About the coils I've read on Tacoma's, those that use OME coils with 5100's gain lift when set at 0. So if its the same for the Tundra's the OME springs should be londer, but we'll see. Let us know.

What struts are you running with the 885s, the OME 90004s? What year Tundra, Access Cab or Crew Cab?
OME 9000s up front, N182's out back. This is on a 2005 double cab Tacoma.

I prefer this setup to my buddy's 5100's on stock springs. I wasn't interested in mixing OME springs with 5100s like a lot of others.

Not sure yet? I've had LOTS interest and few guys say they want it and then back out at the last minute. I've taken down all the sale posts and still have one more prospect. If he falls through I'm keeping it. I'm sick of dealing with trying to sell it and it's too good of a truck to take a huge loss on.

On my '02 Taco 4x4

-ToyTec Ultimate Lift (2.5")
-Alcan Leaf Pack to compensate for the 800lbs of FWC Fleet camper
-Firestone Ride Rite air bags to level the load and smooth out cornering

I was running the Toytec adjustable C/Os for about a year and they were great. I recently pulled them (read: now for sale) because of a killer deal on the ICONs.

Now I'm running the ICON extended C/Os with Light Racing UCAs up front and OME Dakars with the extra leaf and OME rear shocks. It's my perfect setup, provides the needed support for extra expedition load carrying capacity but the springs still have great flex when I want to get technical.

I looked at the ICON rear shocks, but they seem a little over-rated and not really what I needed anyway.
