Hi to all my name is Josh and this is my 90 XJ.
When i started building the car i was leaning towards a JeepSpeed/Daly driver but quickley found out thats not going to happen with 3 year old twins and a dog (mommy wasn't too thrilled about going fast) so started looking towards camping adventures and found your site. Feel free to coment on things u would change or improve. Thinks for looking and reading.

The spare mount. It swings down to the ground that way it will help me get to the rack once i fab that up.

I like the front and rear bumpers. Very functional without adding a lot of weight. The front should also be great protection from an animal strike.

(Note, the following is my personal opinion and is not meant to take away anything from your truck or your build vision:snorkel:)I've never been a fan of the drop down style tire carrier. Seems like a lot of weight to deal with every time you want to open the gate. Makes sense to use it to climb to the rack in your case, but will you need to access the rack or the gate more often?

Nice thing about Jeeps is the versatility. Regardless of which way the build begins, it can progress easily to whatever we choose to do.

Welcome to the forum!

See what u are saying. I plan on building a drawer system for my tools and spairs.the top of the drawers is going to be a safe haven for my dog. So if i need to get in the back i am going to be there a while. The roof is going to carrie the tent and chairs. Plans for a camp trailer are in the works.

You will hate life if you plan to run 33's with 4.88 gearing, your rpm's will be pretty high and 1st gear in 4-lo will not hold you back very well going down steep inclines. I run 4.56's with 33's and it's decent, but could easily run 35's.

x2 about 4.88 gearing. i would suggest 4.56 as well.
swing down carrier looks great but as before mentioned it seems like it would get annoying, but that's just IMO. it's not for me. personally, i would get a ladder setup, not sure who makes it but i can figure out, a forum person that added me on Facebook has a ladder that runs up the side of the jeep right behind the rear side window. heres a pic.

just a suggestion. from what his facebook says its made by a guy named max wilson who is the owner of dirtbound offroad and wilson fab works...

also, not sure if he put it on wrong but the ladder is supposed to follow the shape of the body closer, so if you did end up going this route it will look better if you align it all properly..

There are tons of newer HP30's out here in the salvage yards, let me know if you can't find one locally and I can help you out.
