Can I borrow your vin #?

I know, what a strange thing to ask. Here's the deal, I am adding the compass/temp gauge to my 2010 Tacoma D/C L/B. I have purchased the meter so all I need now is the overhead consol (plastic). To purchase the correct consol, I need the vin # of a truck that came with the compass. Apparently the Toyota dealer no longer has the ability to search for a part without the vehicles vin#.
I am looking for a vin# for a 2009-20011 Double cab that came with the compass/temp display in the overhead.

That new? Just hit a dealership or used car lot. (chances are the dealers have an '11 model yet) Either write down the VIN, or ask for a CarFax report, which would include the VIN.

For part searches that required a vin number in the Porsche community we would just find an eBay auction for a car that came equipped with the option we were trying to buy the parts for to add to our cars. Looks like you got your current issue resolved but you may want to keep that in mind if you are looking to retrofit parts from different year models at a later date. Hope you have success with your project.

Wrong one!

ok, just received the console, 63650-AD010-B0 is not the correct console. It is the consol I have now.
I need the console with the panel that holds the compass/temp meter in lieu of the garage opener door in grey.
Any guesses of where to go now?

It may be too late but, according to my local Toyota dealership's website, this is the VIN for a new TRD truck they have on their lot - 5TFMU4FN5BX003342 :sombrero:

try toyodiy.com and you can search around...
there is also a EPC you can download after some google action that might help...not sure if it works for something as new as you are looking for but worth a shot
