    The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

The DRD stands for "deep reduction drive", the more common variant is the 750DRD from the oil and mining industry. The weak point of the P-19 driveline is the power divider that sits between the engine and transmission. Before the box swap, I will remove it, or make it essentially a spacer...

The transmission is an Allison 735DRD. There is no transfer case. The transmission feeds the front axle that has a combining box built in that drives the rear axle. Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

    The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

It's about the same size as my ambulance is now, just a little bit longer. I plan to use it for light (gravel roads) off road and to lake side camp sites. The big thing is that it is all wheel drive with locking axles, no more getting stuck on wet grass! Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

Made some progress today. Removed the damaged power divider oil tank so I weld it back to life. Also most of my filter arrived, two more to go. Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

Its a slow start as pieces and parts start arriving, but for now I am jist happy it runs and the tires are holding air! They were not fun to build up. Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

    The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

Okay, long story short, I have been in the military for almost 30 years, these rigs have been rolling around runways all over the world the whole time. They are designed for maintenance and easy to work on. I mean, they are easy for me to work on. I have heard other complain, but always found...

    The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

I am sorry you feel that way. My state has already allowed me to title and register it, insurance was inexpensive and easy to get as well. Not sure what P-19 you drove, but this thing is pretty quick for its size. I am not going to defend my craziness, but it is my decision and time to waste...

Here it is the P-19 build thread. The plan is to remove the water tank and fire fighting equipment and put the box from the ambulance on it. So here we go... Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

    International 4700 Ambo build

Time for a change. The past 11 years of Ambo driving have been awesome. In the search for 4x4 parts to convert the International to a 4x4 I stumbled across a poor little Oshkosh P-19 in need of a new home. Why a P-19 you may be asking? Biggest reason for me is why not? It is road legal and...
