The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

This looks civilian, not military. It doesn’t have CTIS?
According to the Wikipedia article, it carries 70gal of diesel and has a range of 262 miles. The quotient of thst division is 3.74…..
Good luck, curious how it turns out.

Nice. I'm doing a similar build in NC. I have some questions about your truck. Is it full time all wheel drive? What transmission and transfer case did Oshkosh use for the rear engine trucks? Can't wait to see how this turns out.

The transmission is an Allison 735DRD. There is no transfer case. The transmission feeds the front axle that has a combining box built in that drives the rear axle.

Power divider oil tank all welded up, primed and painted. The installation went well and no more leaks!

Installing new lights this weekend.

I’m not a complete expert on Allisons, but I can’t find any reference to an Allison 735.
The RD may refer to “Rugged Duty” version.
Then there’s the somewhat recent 3700SP (FMTV) and 4700 series (MTVR, HEMTT). And there’s 3500 and 4500…
And there’s older Allisons with 3-digit model numbers.

Aren't "The Bear Necessities" and Oshkosh P-19 at the opposite ends of the spectrum? Asking for a friend

Actually I fully support weird and extreme endeavors

The DRD stands for "deep reduction drive", the more common variant is the 750DRD from the oil and mining industry. The weak point of the P-19 driveline is the power divider that sits between the engine and transmission. Before the box swap, I will remove it, or make it essentially a spacer.

Also, sometimes the most necessary thing in a bear's life is the most weird and complex vehicle he can find. #midlifecrisis.
