Lastly, was on an extended washboard and then rough dirt road earlier this month and found the water filter had popped off. Honestly I’m surprised it took this long as it’s pretty heavy when full and apparently only attached by three screws. Wondering if the newer EOS uses this same attachment...
Also the dinette backs are coming off, screws stripped as well. I decided to attach aluminum plate there as well using adhesive and then will re-screw it on. I think the main culprit for this failure is all the Velcro they used to attach the cushions. It requires a significant amount of force to...
camper is approaching 5 years old and no longer new. Some wear and tear showing up, support leg for turning dinette into a bed stripped the screws out of thin aluminum. I welded some thicker 1/8” thick aluminum plate on and retapped them. Hopefully that will hold up a bit longer
Not familiar with those trails but do have a family of four and a bóreas EOS. We don’t take it on true rock crawling style routes, not sure that we could. We do camp off grid about half the time, and this trailer lets us not worry too much about forest service roads/fire roads as we are...
I don’t think so, I have side windows as well from them and the latching mechanism is totally different and seems much more fool proof. The skylight didn’t seem to me an equivalent quality compared to their other offerings. I agree regarding skylights. In general, the less holes in the roof the...
Last few weeks was a little rough on this camper. We had 65+ mph winds and the roof hatch from tern overland was not up to the task. Have been having issues with the struts for awhile now and they were repeatedly popping on and off. Unfortunately the hatch was perpendicular to the wind and I...
Upped the power bank to 300 Ah in total. Hoping that should be enough with the solar for our 3-7 day trips. Otherwise can’t decide on a 4th battery or just giving in and buying a small generator. Anyone have an idea of how quickly a 2000w generator will recharge 300 Ah of batteries? I’m...
Newest project is building a cover and windscreen for the stove. Ours didn’t come with #1 like the final model dead initially didn’t think it would be a big deal but can barely boil water in the wind currently.
Almost done just have to add the hinges and a strap to keep it all from rattling on...
I think for your purposes it’s not necessary although it would be nice. Our standard canvas in a Boreas is fine for shoulder season. The truma heater is whisper quiet though which is probably more important in my mind than the insulation because if you have canvas that heater is turning on...
