What, running tires 4 inches bigger than stock will affect my mileage. Lifetime offroad yes I call a Toyota on 35" with regeared and locked diffs with a RTT a stock vehicle
If through traveling in Canada, stock range is fine. Camping and exploring and remote areas, it's a pain to have to drop everything and take the slow drive out just to top up with gas. I travel remote western and Northern Canada frequently, and at times bring 2 20 l gas cans as you do. Traveling...
Throughout BC and Yukon we use those ATV trails, they lead to private awesome campsites. And full sized doesn't fit, we bought and sold a full sized camper during covid, very comfortable but many of our known spots were outta reach, as they cause a little or a lot of damage to the camper...
James Baroud? Highest quality in regular use plus a solar fan to keep the inside dry during extended travel. With my simple RTT this is the biggest problem we have during shoulder season multiple nights during cool humid weather on the west coast to the north. Regular camping/hiking friends have...
Bumped into a 70 old youngin on remote Yukon backroads in 2023; I fell in love with a Usra minor as our perfect retired expo vehicle, he told me the same as you mentioned. Still on the hunt for a light weight camper that would happily travel down ATV trails, these come close to ideal.
That's what I was thinking. But what would a Canadian want with a diesel heater 🥶. We like sleeping cool and as year round backpackers don't like waking from a warm place then jumping out to the cool for the day
Anyone try/install a small fan to exhaust the moist air at night? Thinking a 3 inch low speed battery fan?
I had originally wanted a James Baroud, but weight and wait times for a custom paint job decided no. Plus a close buddies JB finish isn't aging well after just 2 years.
Done a dozen...
Take mine off in the winter and place it well protected in the corner of a shed - but camped a dozen nights in March and April so it doesn't stay there long. But this is also to protect it from snow loads and save a little gas driving up our local ski hill. It's on a strictly recreational ride...
Not surprised it sold, besides the fantastic, best in many years, 'for sale' website with all included. You had me at Raptor lined (been 4x4 camping for 40's years and my vehicles get beat)
So many places to ride on the north isle. So much info shared out there now! But little mention of the gates easy to ride around on bikes like those, or other abandoned FSRs.
That's Grant's Bay, looking the other way
Thinking as a Canadian, T7s go fast from Dealerships and few used models, one I can find now is $11,000 cad and totaly stock.
I tour often with family on KTMs and neighbours/son in law Vstrom. The Zuki is the more comfortable soft road bike, but on many a trips find them unable to climb loose...
Vstrom 650/800. Took a group of neighbours and old friends on a tour of the northern part of the North Island 1000. 2 KLRs, KTM 890 adv, a just unwrapped new T7, and both a 650&800 Vstrom. With no hard offroad, definitely consider the Suzuki; comfort, easy ridding, range due to its economy...
Not new and dealer service centers are brutal in BC. It's a long list problems and even young family members working in that industry have a long list of complaints and deal with stress as a result of this greedy industry. And this doesn't take into account billing out of country for warranty...
