1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

I do like that idea, I would consider if the truck were to turn into a family camping truck, but as it is with the wife and our dogs, most of the wheeling weekend trips I go out on I'm solo.. so it does make packing/sleeping significantly more streamlined.

I still have the color-matched canopy for it that I bought it with (and now the truck's peeling clearcoat has caught up with the canopy's non-existent clearcoat!)... but with the tight trees we have as well as the rock wheeling down south (and the much more difficult access inside the toolbox...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

Up here it is so rainy in the winter (read: slippery roots, rocks with zero traction, off camber trail just asking for a downhill slide, mud pits) that we don't do much proper wheeling unless you have a 700hp buggy and are ready to get rowdy and WOT bounce around. If the weather is simply...

Descending into Rubicon Springs, we only passed through, with the plan to hang out for lunch and a dip, and then climb Cadillac Hill to Observation Point and then camp out there for the night. I'm really, really happy with how the rear bumper turned out, and how functional it was.. I still...

The Samuraii #1, the blue one.. aka "hers" of the "his and hers" Suzukis of the WheelEveryWeekend couple Brittney and Ian. She fabricated this front 3-link right before the Moab trip last fall, where I first met them, and this thing FLEXES, almost too much.. it is so willing to unweight the...

Been a little while since I posted here.. not too much to report on the Dodge beyond the rear bumper as the last big project. I did remove the aluminum headache rack I made, to make the cab visually appear a little "smaller", as well as get a factory Dodge sliding back glass installed. Once...

    2007 Silverado - Buy Once, Cry Once: 1-tons, 40's & a Custom Camper

This is simply amazing to see come to fruition, it looks beauty. What are your plans for rear ride height once the weight of the camper is on? VERY stoked to see this level of imagination, forethought, fabrication skill, and precise execution.... also in BC  Cheers, Joe

You will definitely enjoy the big 6-bolt box. I have one on my 2nd gen Dodge and it is literally as tight as the day I installed it ~2019. I do regret not initially getting the ported one for the *option* of future ram assist, but so far I have not discovered a big enough need to re-buy the...

I cut maybe 4 or 5 versions of the curvature out of cereal box until I got the extreme ends to mate to the plastic panel nicely, then did a 3rd cross-section horizontally, then took pics of those curves and then projected them onto planes in my 3D modeling software. That got it close enough...

Which ARB do you have? For what it's worth, my ARB twin does a great job at filling my 40's from ~22psi to 40psi surprisingly quickly.. Like I have to be checking the tire pressure pretty quickly to make sure I don't overshoot 40psi.

Thanks! I'm beyond stoked at how "integrated" it turned out. For the Atlas sticks, I'm in the middle of hashing out decent 3D prints for top caps, with debossed lettering of "F" vs "R" for the left and right sticks, and a little factory-like diagram of "L-N-H" for position. The texture on the...

And then the switch pods and the transfer case shifter trim installed. I'm beyond stoked at how "OEM+" it turned out...

1998.5 Dodge Ram CTD - Sally

I really like the look of the twin-stick rubber shift boot that comes with the Atlas (and I'm sure many other aftermarket transfer cases), so to start I printed a rigid trim ring to maintain the oval shape of the boot base, as well as be able to secure it down to the main trim ring. Since I...

Next up, was making the rear locker functional with the needed switch. Having used the front locker an extensive amount, I wasn't really hot on having to lean over to the center of the console to hit the button on the Switchpros, to the passenger side of the radio. I have also been less and...

Finally got the ARB locker in the Dana 80, generally no huge hurdles, but there is always something. I took ample measurements of the previous 4.10 gear install, took ample ARB stub/offset measurements, got a good 1st-guess shimstack calculated out, and turns out with the setup bearings the 1st...
