Cool, you won't regret it! What temps do you expect to hit? Since you have a 2018, do you have the outside little faucet up front close to the handbrake? If so, I would consider removing that whole line, that will be your weak spot for freezing after the winter package is done! Are you also...

The Fiamma awning that came with my HQ15 has built-in legs, see picture. Sounds like you have a different brand awning?

Correct. I talked to him about how he did it exactly. It makes sense he had to do bolts through the wall, unless there happens to be a stud exactly centered between the two seats to attach it to, and that is not likely. Even if that is true, I'm not sure I would do it that way, if someone sits...

Ok next mod is up! I decided I didn't like to heat up 6 gallons of water just to do a few dishes, or take a shower. It takes 30 minutes to fully heat all that water, and is just a waste of propane. If you always want access to hot water, you need to keep the hot water heater turned on, more...

Bikepedals is correct. You need a separate charge controller. Most "suitcase" solar solutions do have a charge controller already built in, and if so you can hook that up to the Anderson connector no problem. If you're building your own custom setup, you'll have to search for a controller that...

I just put two bolts through each support leg and secured it to the floor that way. so the table doesnt move anymore. You should also look at Michael's MOD video on the floating table he did. That one is pretty nice, as it secures the table to the side of the trailer, but the drawback is he...

My heater pads draw about 4A @ 12V nominal. They are NOT 120V pads. I don't think you want to put ~500W into a single pad, it will melt the plastic of the water tanks :)

Hi again! The bluetooth for the Victron charge controllers is great, fully agree. But that is not the same as having a battery monitor. I actually really like that monitor, as it has a display (so no need to whip out your phone and connect first before you see any data). The most important value...

Hi Bikepedals! Ok, I did some reading on the 100AH Lithium Renogy battery, and see how that one needs to be charged. Renogy doesn't provide a lot of information unfortunately. Specifically, they do not say if a fixed time absorption stage is fine, or not. For the BattleBorn they recommend 30min...

Was getting bored staying at home during the whole Covid thing, so started the next HQ15 project. Adding a single 310W solar panel, with a second charge controller, on the front of the trailer. The solar panel is 65x39 inches in size, and I got it from the local solar installer. Normally these...

The gauges are cool in that they are digital, but I strongly suspect the sensors in the tank are the same as in any trailer. I.e. there are only a few sensors, so you get the discrete levels. Mine seems to go from 24% to 50% to 74% to full.

Bikepedals, if you read the youtube comments a lot of people point out what you said, the Nissan is probably over its max. Calicamper, the tow person (Matt) doesn't know these trailers so he's being conservative, and therefore not use the back recovery points. Last thing he wants to do is rip a...

I went with two 100AH batteries. That is probably the equivalent of four of the gel batteries. We are not power hogs, so two is plenty (no TV, no microwave). You can always add more batteries later.

Next mod. Upgrade the batteries to Lithium. After a bunch of research, I went with the Battle Born 100AH batteries. Yes, you can get cheaper ones, but these are top notch. Also, they are the only ones I found so far that will allow charging below freezing, as low as 25F. Most cut off charging...
