I have to say I'm offended by Liam having his shoes up on the rock walls in the joint trail. That is going to wear off a little sandstone everytime somone does that. A responsible parent would have had their children remove their shoes before doing that.
Awesome pictures again Adam...
Nice job Adam writing this up and posting this here. It is a diverse group who frequent this forum and some no doubt have different views on backcountry travel. They are dirt roads, ruts happen.
count me in again. Loved the trip! Also agree the speed was part of the fun, except for the part when Hannah lost control in my lexus and my life passed before my eyes. :Wow1:
Bridgestone Revo's I think. There were lots of sharp rocks but some of his punctures occured on just normal gravel roads too. Some were sidewalls, others center of tread. It became somewhat comical to see the plugs sticking out of the sidewalls after awhile. I don't know what was up, he...
I was just thinking about the trip some more. We were a pretty well equipt group. Pun intended. Besides being some of the greatest guys you could hope to travel with, Paul May and Kurt Williams also have been our group’s primary suppliers of expedition equipment. I'm not positive of the...
Nice write up Adam! And Pictures. I'll add a few photos when I'm on my other computer, but just wanted to chime and and give my thanks for a great trip as well.
My daughter had just returned from being out of the country serving a church mission in Slovenia for 18 months. This was a great...

On our return trip to Salt Lake we traveled past Borrego Springs
again we found everything in blossom.
Next we travelled along the West shore of the Salton Sea and into Joshua Tree National Park. Stopping at the visitors center we again...
Back on pavement we headed up to Dante's View point. It is a narrow twisting road that gains elevation pretty quickly. Made me wish I had 4:88 gears to assist in getting my heavy Lexus up the hills. At the top of the hill you are greated with an incredible view down into Badwater Basin.
A...
We decided to spend the night at Stove Pipe Junction campground. They have bathroom facilities and a pay phone. (No signal for cell phones) We quickly pitched our Ezi Awn and made the bed. My wife recently made a set of fitted flannel sheets for the bed and the down comforter was necessary as...
I had a convention in San Diego this month and decided to take the opportunity to explore the Mojave Desert along the way. The first stop was to be Death Valley. It had been cold and wet in Utah the week leading up to our trip. I kept assuring my wife we were going to the hottest, driest place...
