I actually run carli 2.5 kings in the rear - but a little birdy has told me the shock dimensions (collapsed/extended) are basically the same. Thuren valving should work fine in my opinion (I would go stage 3-4 if it were me)
I used the black (the softest they offer for the 2500s) - So far, I love them... 4 bolts, and they come off if I want to run normal bump stops. They dont seem to impact daily ride quality, and when I do hit them on the street, I cant tell (I can only tell based on witness marks on the axle).
They recommend 1" bump stop drops in the rear (although a PW already has them) - I run those, and no other modifications. It was ok with my 1200lb tongue weight trailer (a little squat) but the sumo springs keep me dead level...
There is a new contender - carbon shocks - thuren seems to be developing them with a piston of his own design. I do run his kings with carli +2 springs in the rear. I love the ride, but ended up with sumo springs to control the squat with my travel trailer hooked up.
And they are a company that will sell you a half baked bumper with quality and design issues... and crap customer service. There is a reason their biggest market is insta fanbois who are sponsored by them and never say anything bad about anything they own.
As of 2 weeks ago, I do not. I needed more weight capacity to tow my airstream, and so had to move to a regular 2500. Ended up with a brand new loaded cummins truck for almost nothing out of pocket (amazing trade in value on the old truck, and below invoice on the new truck if I was willing to...
Need more shocks... Common problem with the coil sprung 2500's with weight high up (ie, camper, etc). The airbags should help compensate for the spring rate, but you can also go to Carli's +2 rear spings (not on their website) - they are a higher spring rate than the standard carli +1 springs...
Call AEV - ask them "I have a 20XX power wagon and want to run your lift - can I run it with my factory springs, or do I need standard 2500 hemi springs" - let us know what they say... Because I have made that call, and they told me (and others) "You need springs from a standard 2500".
An interesting entry into the radius arm options - similar to the Lewis built, but actually avalible it seems. https://www.signaturemetalfab.com/product-page/ram-hd-adjustable-radius-arms
