    OBS F250 Build

These are the last pictures I had taken . There's been some progress since.... the cab is now sitting back on the frame, there's new insulation / carpet in the cab, and freshly reupholstered seats. Custom driveshafts look great, too. There were issues getting the cab on - mostly clearing the...

    OBS F250 Build

Honestly, I've just always had a thing for the 6bt. Growing up, my dad's cousin had one that he used for towing a race car. He put over 1 million miles on it, and always talked about how much he loved it, how efficient it was, and how easy it was to fix. I guess, since I was a kid, I've always...

My iPhone took a swim in a river a while back and I never replaced it. I took these about a month ago on an old phone - since then the driveshafts have been installed and the fuel tanks / fuel lines are in.

    OBS F250 Build

New tires, loaded up in the back of my F350 (I love this truck - it's got 320k miles and is going to be my future project when the F250 is done. It needs a lot of love...) Here they are - rolling chassis! Kenda Klevers - 35x10.5 on 17" wheels. The wheels weren't my first choice, but it's...

Quick question: does anyone have any thoughts on steering linkage? My axle didn't come with anything, so I'm wondering if there are aftermarket options (this is an '05 front axle) that folks might recommend?

6BT has arrived. ARB locker is in.

    OBS F250 Build

Incremental progress on the truck. Things are moving slow, partially due to my schedule, partly due to the lack of availability of parts. Front air locker has arrived; still waiting on the rear limited slip.

Thanks for the replies guys! I ended up getting some 4/1 springs (spring capacity is 2,700lbs) and removing the overload... this truck won't be hauling much, and if I find myself using it for hauling, I can throw some airbags on it.

    OBS F250 Build

Had a question that I'm hoping the informed among us can help with.... The new leaf spring mounts from Sky's should be here this week, but I haven't ordered leaf springs yet. Does anyone know what the stock spring capacity is on the '97 F250? I'm trying to figure out what springs I should...

Got the Sky's ORD suspension parts back from powdercoating and got it all mounted. Everything fit well. Got the radius arms hung from the new brackets; now waiting on some Icon springs and we'll be able to get the rest of the front axle/suspension dialed. My friend has a killer old brake lathe...

Awesome - thanks for the heads up. A sump would be awesome... I'll see if it's not too late. They said they ran into issues sourcing raw materials for building tanks, but are currently back at it. I just got a call from them last week and they said they're back to building tanks. Thanks...

    OBS F250 Build

The new motor and fuel tank are still about 2 months out. The suspension mounts should be back from powdercoating this week. I'm in the process of figuring out which diff locker I want to use on the front, which wheels I want to use, what I want to do with the bed, and what I'm going to to do...

Nickle and dime - haha! That's a good way to put it. Mine have both had their run of issues, but they've been relatively minor (with the exception of an aftermarket turbo's center bearing that failed and destroyed the turbo... fortunately the intercooler caught the shards of metal). Thanks...

What are you driving now? I really enjoy both of my trucks. I’ve put about 150k miles on my F250 and about 100k miles on the F350. Issues have been minimal, relative to their age.

    OBS F250 Build

Progress has been slow. Mostly waiting on parts. The front differential looks to be in good condition. Frame is mostly done.... I keep finding spots that need attention, but it’s 99%. I eventually had to come to terms with the fact that it’s a frame, and without a sandblaster, it wasn’t gonna be...
