Im actually a ranger at the Wachusett reservoir.....weird coincidence.. any way..Health insurance with he state isnt bad, I dont have numbers off the top of my head but i dont think its as spendy as your current set up. As far as the job and Equipmet and such we are pretty well off in watersupply protection compared to the rest of DCR,new trucks, and equipment and such. I also know that the laborers and operations staff get the opportunity for a good amount of overtime, storm cleanup, snow removal etc, so that might make a diffference. hope it works out for ya, if it does stop by the ranger station and say hi!

Yeah the decision is big, could be life altering. The DCR job is at the Wachusett Resevoir. Job title is Water Shed Laborer. The job isnt the issue, its the pay. Pay starts at 14 somthing. Right now im over 18 at my current position. There isnt much room to grow where im at now. But it pays the bills.

Another issue at my cureent job is next year my health insurance goes to 40% which takes 150 a week out of my pay even more for a family plan. So right off the bat thats a pay cut which brings me down to 17 or 16 and some change. Its 40 now but only going to go up.

I dont want to regret not taking this oppourtunity because it dosent come often. I also dont want to mot be able to pay the bills.
