yes I can see this happening to many first timers like myself. I'll probably never do that again. lol

loosened up the timing belt and just pulled it out. thankfully i didn't rent a puller before this. Duhhhhhhhhhh. easy does it. thanks for all the help once again! now i've gotta take the heads off and clean everything, new seals/gaskets & water pump.

ok ok i got it. i was whacking it with a rubber mallet earlier, hope i didn't screw anything up. So i'm pulling on the pulley and i can see the gear behind it moving with the thing, i'm only able to pull it out about a quarter inch by hand. is that gear supposed to be moving in and out like that?

i haven't really tried pulling mine off cause i figured i'd need a puller. i know it won't just slide off though.. hmmm. can i just bang the **** out of it to get it off? will it harm anything?
