    eye opener about gvwr

Interesting on the portable scales and weight checks. I thought they mostly picked on commercial vehicles. Guessing there could be an entire thread on driving in California.

    eye opener about gvwr

Going back to "eye opener about GVWR" is why you see the truck camper world moving towards the larger base vehicles. People started getting actual weights and realized they were pushing it. It is also why you see the general trend in the industry to have 3/4 ton and 1-ton fully fitted overland...

    eye opener about gvwr

The funny thing is the payloads are low but the towing capacities seem outrageous. The RV dealers will sell someone with a small SUV a large pull behind, hook them up, and send them on thier way. I understand there are brake controllers but 30 feet of fully loaded down RV barreling down a...

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

Not to Hijack the OG thread but I would like others opinions on using adjustible shocks for towing. I have fox 2.5 resi from accutune. They are great shocks and I have played with the settings but don't really beleive that running on 1 unloaded and 10 loaded would suffice for heavy towing...

Are there dealers with models actually on lot somewhere?

Overland Expo is in AZ every May. Between the show and the folks camping there should be several truck campers to compare. There is also a Truck Camper Rally in AZ every year where you could check out models...

    2022 Ford F350 Suspension

Mine seems to do just fine (2022 F250) with stock radius arms. Carli 2.5 lift front coils with 37's. I am not jumping ditches or anything but dirt and forest service roads no problem. Not running stock wheels though.

Earth Roamer vs Northern Lite Rig—Go!

240 Pics on BAT. One of the best integrations of camper to bed starting with an off the shelf utility body. The modifications to the rear are noteworthy. Appears the spare tire is raised and lowered with Hydraulics which is pretty interesting as well. I would like to see how they modified...

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

No rear sway on 2022 F250. Fox 2.5 resi shocks with custom Alcan springs for 3,000 lb capacity. If you are running stock springs change those out. Levels the truck and no need for air-bags unless you tow a heavy trailer. I would go Deavers if you can as they are more progressive than my...

    Hard side decisions

Good progression on camping. You are going to enjoy anything you end up with. I like the hardside vs soft as you can toss everything in the cab over and head out. One of the best things about a camper in general is 80% plus of what you need for the weekend is in it and ready. When you get...

Hardside Camper Selection - How to?

    Hard side decisions

Can't speak of experince with Super Tramp but they check a lot of the boxes on campers if you know what you want and they meet your wants/needs. I fall in the "get a flatbed" camp. If you don't need it as a work truck and/or to haul a 5th wheel trailer then I also agree with rruff to do a...

Hardside Camper Selection - How to?

I have a Bundutec hardside that is 7' wide just over 8' long. It is has worked well. Has a cassette toilet with wet bath. I live in MT and most of my ventures are on the weekends. I can dump the cassette in forest service outhouses before heading home. I also tow a raft or small boat so the...

    Total Composites flatbed build

I think you can see the yellow springs under the bed. Not 100% but looks like it was switched over.
