I went with a 6” lift and 37”s because the Suburban has a big butt and I figured it can use a little more tire because of the bootie and the break over angle.
It will get used off road too despite its good looks.
If I decided to chop the truck up I’m sure it wouid fit 40s, but GM isn’t...
Pretty much.
I’m sure my wife and my neighbors would totally be cool with a Suburban body sitting on my front lawn for a few years while I did this Johnny Cash style one piece at a time.
I wonder if my critic gets this upset when someone buys a new Raptor, TRX, or Power Wagon off the lot...
I have neither the time nor the space to do what this truck needed.
I go to work and get paid to do what I do best, then I pay some people to do what they do best.
But thanks for showing up and pinching one off on the living room floor. We are all better off for your contribution.
The ORD coilover kit is nice for sure. I thought about it, but for anywhere something the size of a Suburban will venture, I thought the ORD custom leaf springs would do the job with less complexity or potential installation headaches with the 6.6 engine.
With 6” of lift and the front...
I don’t even understand how the Book Face works and I don’t want to. Not interested in sharing what I had for dinner or my whereabouts. It’s just not that exciting.
With more years in the rear view mirror than in the front windshield, now is the time. How many more years of decent health left to even do this stuff?
I’ve been slacking on the updates. We’ve got a running and driving truck now. Matt and his crew tell me tests are going well and the 6.6 L8T runs like a boss. The first picture is of the Suburban in its natural habitat…….a gas station. 😄 Fortunately the drip underneath in the picture isn’t...
Haven’t updated in a while. There have been a few changes. The front bumper is back from getting powder coated and progress has been made on wiring.
The rear bumper has come in and has also been powder coated.
Progress continues on the interior and wiring. Getting closer!
Once the truck...
Many of the 6.2s have run 250k miles and beyond without issue. Some have had lifter issues with the cylinder deactivation technology GM uses. Ram uses a similar system in their trucks. You can get an aftermarket tuner to shut this “feature” off, but then you are still stuck with the lifters...
More progress. Shield for the air tank and compressors has been mocked up and is ready for Raptor Lining.
The Warn Zeon 12000 pound winch has arrived and been test fit on the Off Road Design front bumper. We are waiting on the rear bumper to come in (hopefully this week) then both bumpers and...
Starting to look like a truck. It fired up for the first time! Making progress.
Cold Case radiator and dual 16” fans are in as well as a Derale Transmission cooler with underbody fan.
ORD crossover steering is mocked up and ready for powder coating and new steering box is in.
Dual ARB...
