Kingdom Campers Caravan XL

I wanted to start a thread to keep up with our new trailer.

First, a huge thank you to Jamin at Kingdom Camping for getting this trailer built exactly how we wanted it. From our first conversation right up until we picked the trailer up the communication was as good as it gets. Jamin worked with us to customize several items in the trailer to make it work for my family. I can't say enough good things about this company. I've had a few questions since we picked up the trailer, and every time you call or email you get a quick response from the owner!

We went with the Caravan XL and selected the "bunkhouse" layout to accommodate our family of 4. You can easily sleep 3 kids in here by converting the dinette into another bed. Working with Jamin we were able to select our appliances, add reading lights, add maxx fans, we added a couple windows, added an exterior slide out kitchen with a camp chef stove (think blackstone/pizza oven/grille) and then went with a few of his available options: aluminum cabinets, an unbelievable amount of battery power and solar charging, hydraulic brakes (we live in the mountains) and a host of other things.

We drove up to IN from CO to take delivery. Jamin gave us the walkthrough and we were back on the road. Once home we loaded up the gear and the family and took off for a long weekend of mountain bike racing for my son. I've been camping all my life. We tent camped for many, many years, we've done the RTT, I used to sell and use Turtleback Trailers, I've built "expedition" style trailers, we had an Opus and now the Caravan XL. After several nights in the camper my wife said she wouldn't mind living in it!! It is that comfortable. Yes, it is very limited space, but you literally get to enjoy all the creature comforts while experiences the great outdoors. It is crazy to play in the mountains all day, return to camp, take a hot shower, cook a spread of food and then crawl into a plush bed and stare at the stars. I know...... I've gone soft. I don't care what you say, this is AMAZING! Best part, when it was time to go home all we had to do is hook up and drive off. Camp breakdown literally took 5 minutes.

I will use this thread to keep a running log for myself of mods, upgrades, issues, etc..... I'll also try to add some fun trip pictures along the way.

If you have any questions regarding this trailer, I'm happy to answer them.

Here are a couple pictures from the day we picked it up. HERE is a youtube video of the trailer done by Jamin.

Wow Texas that is one awesome set up. I can't tell you how many MDC, imperial Outdoors and even Pause/Reboot potential buyers i have tried to sway to Kingdom. Jamin breaks the mold for any and all IN builders. Not to mention his generation. He maybe to young to be labled a millennial but he has none of the attributes of your typical millennial. I would have bought one of his rigs but I needed one a bit lighter. Heading to do Iron Horse Classic next week. Doing the road race Durango to Silverton then MTB on Sunday. Maybe you guys will be there. Look forward to following your posts. I did the same thing with my Trailer Marker. Its awesome to document ones journey here on EP.

Congrats on the trailer. That’s an impressive rig. Were you previously in an OP15? I’m looking to take the next step in my trailering adventure but budget doesn’t allow for a Kingdom

We were in Durango last weekend, unfortunately we won’t make this one. Have fun out there!

I was in an OP-4. It was a good trailer, we had 4 years of fun in it! The OP-15 is sweet too. I was pleased with how the opus pulled and everything on it worked as it should. The search is tough! Good luck.

TexasD-90, you are probably already aware, but Jamin has also started a Kingdom Camping Owners group on FB.
