Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

Anyone try/install a small fan to exhaust the moist air at night? Thinking a 3 inch low speed battery fan?

I had originally wanted a James Baroud, but weight and wait times for a custom paint job decided no. Plus a close buddies JB finish isn't aging well after just 2 years.

Done a dozen camp nights so far this year, and nights close to freezing it gets very wet on the inside surfaces.

Surprised about you friend experiencing problems with the finish not aging well (assume your are referring to the exterior finish). I have a 10+ year old James Baroud that is doing well. I do wax it "generously" every year, which I believe is helpful in maximizing the life of the exterior finish.

Only recently taught him about waxing. I've had the same fiberglass boat for 25 years, due to yearly waxing and it still looks new.

@Fishenough You need to open the windows, a fan will help as well but put the fan as high up as you can. It is a bit of trial and error but even near 0F I have my RTT windows a 1/4 open on both sides and a fan running.

The other option is get a diesel heater, it will deal with the moisture and keep you toasty

That's what I was thinking. But what would a Canadian want with a diesel heater 🥶. We like sleeping cool and as year round backpackers don't like waking from a warm place then jumping out to the cool for the day
