I also spoke with them, I did not get a nefarious vibe from them as much as incompetent people managing the website. Thanks for the heads up though. I think I am going to wander past their dealership, just to see what they have, I also want to stop by your shop to meet in person (We have exchanged a few emails already.)

I had a truck lined up at a dealer up north, I told the salesperson that I wanted it but they wanted to work out some transportation details. Another salesman stepped in and sold the truck.

Now I am back at square one, might have to order a truck. I really wanted to have this mostly wrapped up by spring but it is looking like it is going to be more than a year process.
YM,
I hope that your build does not get pushed out further because of vehicle availability.
UJOR has gotten so good at this it would not surprise me in the future if they start offering a while you wait install option, or maybe even a drive through install option, where you don't even have to get out of your vehicle.

Look in the Atlanta area and then you are only a few hours from Chris

OH MY! I looked at their website, and they had a lot of new box trucks. Unfortunately for me, all of the new box trucks for sale are on the East Coast, and I am in CA. Wabash and Rockport. No idea why you don't see them for sale here. Who would you recommend buying from on East Coast? Do you also have a recommendation for purchasing near Justin's shop? Also, can you recommend a shipper, and have a ballpark estimate on cost per mile for shipping a 10'?
Yea, I was ready to go get one for the advertised price. After calling and getting the "real" price I told them to forget it. I use AutoTrader/Comvoy to find rigs, they're all over but I normally just ck the 500 mile radius. Shipping will be tough, especially once converted due to the height. Most guys like to fly in and drive the rig home when we're done.

Just one at their advertised price? Lol. I was ready to buy them all at those prices and go into the reselling business. The excuse I got was they had uploaded 2000+ vehicles all at once and the person who did the upload failed to consider the unfitting costs.

YM,
How about this one? Looks pretty nice.

I have experience in NC getting a box truck titled as a “house car’. It is a fairly simple process, took about a month, went to the local DMV for the forms and they gave me the contact to the local State Trooper that does the inspection and signs off on the truck being an RV, return forms to DMV and done. Even if you buy a new box truck it will be titled as a commercial vehicle and you will want to transfer to an RV title for easier and cheaper insurance. Also if you plan on traveling Mexico/Central America you will need to get it retitled as an RV to avoid problems with receiving a TIP.
Also the supreme/wabash bodies are great. The partition is bolted in and easy to remove.

I have noticed that Rockport have fiberglass roof, which concerns me regarding mounting a fan to it. Are the Supreme/Wabash roofs aluminum/wood?

I have seen them aluminum and fiberglass, the most common is fiberglass.

This one is aluminum….i would think the fiberglass would be just as fine if you tie the mount into the cross members.

Here’s one that’s up for auction. Not quite sure what it was in a former life. 6’6” high inside which is a big plus over an ambulance.

These links don’t work very well for reposting. It’s currently at $1225 CDN (probably about $900 USD). It only has 65k km on the odometer (40kish miles).

It was probably used by the fire department based on colour and the low mileage.

It’s about five minutes from my place. I’ve seen it inside the compound, but not up close.
