We've had them for about 6 months now and they are great. The first week I had them on our truck I did a 2000 km trip through the Rockies in December and they performed fantastic. This model (Outpost) replaced Nokian's Rottiva tire and we had those for two cycles (aprox 100k km) without any...
Just finished reading the editors choice full size shoot out where the Ford Tremor won out. This was good to see as we are partial to Ford products. One question for Scott (or the forum)....several times throughout, the article stresses the need for camper weight to make the ride tolerable...
Aside from the FWC Project M there is very little wedge or pop up style camper for the 11th gen F150 in the market. Go Fast Camper could provide an option if they receive enough requests. For anyone interested in this here is the link to their newly launched "request" form. If there is enough...
They say the best vehicle for a build out is the one you already have...so, I'm wanting to build out my very low mileage 2008 F150 and I prefer a wedge camper (for a variety of reasons). Trouble is, I'm having a difficult time finding anyone who makes a wedge camper that will fit my truck (5.5...
@montypower , not sure how tall you are but one of the things that has me hesitant to purchase a Taco is the seating position. I'm just under 6' feet and the taco always feels like I am sitting on the floor as opposed to our F150, which is a more traditional truck style seating position (knees...
This is such a great build!!! Kudos to you on your resourcefulness. I'm really attracted to the Go Fast and AT Summit style campers but really dislike the angled side walls so I particularly appreciate that your build uses straight walls off the truck box. I too would love to see your total...
Sadly, I have to agree and share my similar experience with Vagabond over the last two weeks. I have had zero response from Vagabond to my email (other than their auto reply confirming my message). I see they are quite active on IG so I sent them a direct message through that platform and...
Fantastic example of how these things can be done "just right". After reading the article on the expo homepage (and all the wonderful trips you've experienced) just curious why you're selling?
With Toyota having some great finance rates now is the time for us to finally pull the trigger. I've searched the forums and can't really find an answer to my question.
The goal is a Tacoma with one of the AT Overland products for a rig that will do long distances travels from Baja to Alaska...
Great build!! We have an '08 F150 pulling a trailer and a VW Vanagon....we use them for different trips...but we are definitely considering selling the van and updating the truck and your build has been inspiring us. Two questions....do you have a matching spare tire in the stock spare...
Thanks for the heads up...I'll check it out. Out of curiosity, was this on a phone or laptop/computer? I've been having issues with the mobile version and this will help me decipher the issue.
Not to hijack this thread but rather to add to the content....we hiked the canyon this past new years eve and got a huge dump of snow. My blog post about the trip can be seen here; https://www.clintvanblanken.com/blog/arizona-the-grand-canyon
Has anyone seen this yet? Was only a matter of time before the industry responded. Looks pretty cool and I think it’s a great solution.
More pics on their Instagram page.
Hello NuclearFreeZone,
Question for you....how do you find off-road driving in your rig? How do you feel on off-camber trails? Does the unit feel "tippy" at all? Do you ever have any center of gravity concerns or nervousness? Did you consider a pop up style camper, like a four wheel camper...
Curious if there any rumours of a 130 style defender (pick up truck)? Would definitely give the new Gladiator a run and make for some interesting bed topper/camper options.
