Agreed on the toughness factor. Hard is nice, but there's a certain amount of flexibility required for a plastic case to be really tough and not brittle, breakable, or easily pierced. The Systainers look to have a pretty cool modular/stacking 'add-on' design, but they look like they would be...

Flagster, TexGX nailed it on the head. The FrontRunner 'WindCheetah' rack is not a cheapie by any means, but it can be added onto like nobody's business. All the flat cross-members have T-slots for bolting on all their accessories, including tent mounting. Get with Paul May at Equipt...

As noted by cnynrat, the rubber coating was applied to the roof to provide a continuous, one-piece, non-leaking, sealed layer for the entire top. I believe the fiberglass sheet was glued directly onto sides. I'm sure each panel was applied as one giant sheet against the already-installed...

I believe those are the exterior speakers for the car stereo head unit that's going inside.
