People who own Tacomas that have the front TSS radar have installed ARB bars. Sounds like in a sample size of two that one worked (2018) and one didn't (2020).

Wouldn't 3rd gen 4Runner seats potentially fit a 1st gen Tacoma? I'd have thought similar anyway. I used 2nd gen 4Runner (from a 1992) seats in my 3rd gen (1991) pickup. On those 7 of 8 bolts lined exactly and the 8th just needed a large fender washer to work.
This seems to be a generic 22 A-hr gel cell. It could be made to work fine although it's not a ton of capacity.

It's fine if the connectors are appropriately distinct. Although these USB outlets have the 5V power supply built-in so you're only running 120VAC to it, so not quite the same. You'll see 120VAC next to 12VDC on generators and there's no risk of confusing the two.
Not sure exactly how to...
That irritates the heck out of me, too. My Tacoma has an electronic shift transfer case and why there's no neutral is beyond me. I'd just prefer a good old floor stick personally in any case.
I misunderstood that you're not using the switch for an ML-ACR. I'd have to check my switch (I never installed it with the ML-ACR) but I'd have thought it would just be a switch between pins 1, 2 and 3/8 but I don't know that for a fact.
I think pins 3 and 8 are just power supplies for the LED, which get switched on/off through 7 by the ACR. Pin 2 is the logic to control the ACR, which IIRC uses either a logic high (taking pin 2 to +12V) or logic low (grounding pin 2) to force it into either A & B connected or isolated.
If pin...
Nice truck, congrats. Everyone I know with a 100 or 200 series got them as the second owner (and usually begin heavily modifying them!) so it's cool to hear of a first owner who seems to appreciates them.
I'm hoping you try this. As Deming said, "In God we trust, all others must bring data." Keeping a small freezer constant full making ice blocks does strike me as potentially a better use of energy than a larger fridge that is opened a lot and often not ideally packed. I think the cooler...
I can believe a small freezer such a 15L as @rruff is talking about opened just twice a day could end up being pretty efficient, especially compared to a larger fridge opened a dozen times. Not sure if the overall system is going to be more efficient since opening the cooler often and having...
It'll use more energy freezing ice compared to cooling but it's possible the smaller volume and potentially reduced duty cycle could make it work. I've heard of people doing this indefinitely (rotating ice blocks to a cooler) but I think the reason is just because they want a freezer mostly...
Base camping is why I bought a truck in the first place. But I know we're doing "overland" wrong since we still fit fine in a mini truck. The improved highway ride of the Tacoma isn't completely unappreciated though, so I may yet understand why we 'Mericans love oversized, overstuffed...
You'll hear about weird side effects like that. The tail lights may have contained a CANbus termination or may have left a circuit unloaded that's causing PWM issues with a controller.
I said that earlier, I just don't understand why people buy a small (or now midsize) truck and then are surprised that it's small. There are some knuckleheads like me that wanted a small truck and go in eyes open. I'm on the other end of the spectrum trying to find a small truck that's...
That seems like setting yourself up for disappointment. The laws of physics are immutable no matter what the marketing drones might try to sell you otherwise.
I'm fond of this one.
BTW, the image itself seems to originate from an old Warn ad so actually pre-dates Photoshop. Good old dark room magic for that one!
