Rotating pintle hook for receiver hitch

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/rotating-pintle-hitch.855951/ The part number is apparently TXO17916-B (note this is Tango-Xray-Oscar-17916-Bravo) I haven't been able to find it via Google but did find this: https://wallaceforge.com/pintle-hooks/swivel-mounted-pintle-hooks.aspx

Anyone building popup shells for the new Ridgeline?

http://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales-data/honda/honda-ridgeline/ It looks like Honda sells about 30,000 annually in good years, about half that in recession years. It's probably large enough to support the slide-ins for traditionally developed camping but probably not many are used beyond that...

Can the iPad really be used as an out-of-signal range, off-road GPS device?

There's not really one number but the typical value for a phone using a BCM4774 is about 5m best case accuracy with open sky and 10m indoors using just L1 GPS.

Oil pressure gauge conversion from ‘idiot guage’ E350

So all you did was remove the series resistor in the circuit and ran a transducer to the existing switched gauge? You might need to put a resistor in parallel with the new pressure sender to show any movement but with it the readings won't necessarily be linear. FWIW, there's a couple of...

    LiFePO4 Install

The weight reduction is very real, no doubt, so the individual situation drives how valuable that is. I don't see a potential weight saving like you get when I do my estimations but I do see around 50% when I look at reworking things. Maybe a bit more if I really sharpen the pencil on being...

    LiFePO4 Install

I don't think LFP is really all that bad for handling care, not really much worse than AGM for trying to keep alive for long term. AGM has a fairly tight window, not too little to avoid sulfating, not too harsh as to cause them to vent. Plain old flooded batteries are cheap, tolerate a lot of...

    Gladiators on the Rubicon Trail

I agree with your points. Anyone who's been at this long knows long wheel base, long rear overhang and smaller tires is going to make it tough. So I'll just add that I think inexperience might have played a factor. If Jeep wanted just to prove it was technically possible they could have hired...

Anyone building popup shells for the new Ridgeline?

Phoenix and maybe Northstar apparently do or at least used to make one. The new generation looks to me to be a more standard bed shape so maybe the dimensions are enough similar to other pickups that a custom shape isn't necessary.

Dual band HAM radio options, narrowing the choices

The face alone isn't going to do much, you need the whole radio. SysOp mode is only for Echolink and it's to connect the RF side to the IP side. If you want to use a PC to talk to someone on Echolink just load the Echolink application and do it directly. http://echolink.org There's not a lot...

    Blue Sea ACR Wiring Question

It'll indicate voltage at the appliance. There's value to making the measurement at either end. There is no right or wrong since it depends on why you want to know the voltage and what you intend to do with it.

    Power Wagon In Europe?

Yes, find a decent 70 series and ship it back hopefully on the USAF's dime. I don't think I've seen a more compelling justification for owning a troop carrier! Family of 6 and need to travel around Europe. Heck yeah. I'd personally try to find a 1999 HZJ78 (first year of the coil spring...

2 batteries vs 1? (aka cold beer for cheap)

The stock charging systems of our Toyotas won't fully charge lead acid batteries of any type, flooded, AGM. For most people it's not a problem because they don't really ever use much of their battery just starting and driving around. Since they are oversized for most tasks no one notices the...

    200 Series Wheels

Those are Tacoma TRD wheels, right? No go on a 200 series for sure since they'd be 6-bolt and the 200 series has the 5-bolt hubs. Are there TRD wheels from a Tundra you might like? Those would work. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/tundra-wheels-on-landcruiser.283345/

Winter driving with 4x4 lift and knobby tires.

I think in this case severe may be more marketing like "heavy duty" or something like that. It might just mean for real winter you'd exercise the studdable part and that would make them just about unstoppable. The deep lugs would be great in new and deep snow and the studs would be good on ice...

2 batteries vs 1? (aka cold beer for cheap)

In that case you'd have two choices I suppose. Figure out a way to mount the panel so you can drive with it exposed or stop enough to deploy them. You'd want to size everything to give enough margin to charge in less time and use less than all of the battery each day. You could perhaps run a...

Winter driving with 4x4 lift and knobby tires.

An M+S is an old designation that gives you some measure that the tire pattern is OK for year round use. I think it has to do with being able to clear mud and snow better so is less likely to hydroplane. The 3-peak snow flake is a winter-specific rating that takes into account the rubber...

Winter driving with 4x4 lift and knobby tires.

They're M+S so multi season but not really winter rated. These I wouldn't assume would be suitable for winter travel regularly. I find the M+S in an AT or MT truck tires to mean in the rain they will be slightly better if you're running slicks. Those Coursers remind me of the old BFG MT...
