Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

I’m factory gearing. But not pulling a trailer. Just a 4K camper. Handles it nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

Yep. That’s up there. You might actually need a dually. Just for the tire capacity. I’ve not seen any single tires out there that can handle 5k. [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

Yep. Rubbing dual rear tires can actually catch fire. I’ve got no beef with a dually but you CAN make your SRW do almost as much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

That setup with F rated 35s gets me to places like this.. A solid 40 miles off the last paved road. I don’t need no stinking dually. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

Generally DRW trucks have heavier springs. You can install those same springs on your SRW and get ‘most’ of the improvement if you go to good f rated tires. Good enough for my 4K camper off-road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

Dually downsides are: Super wide track sometimes is a problem on narrow trails. Rocks in between tires can be a problem. Airing down you have to be aware of tires running on each other. Gotta but SIX tires. Ouch. Hard to park. Maybe others too. Plenty of upsides I’m sure but I’m...

Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

Id never trade my SRW for a dually but that’s just me. With 4” of lift and another 1-2” from the 35s it gets me where I want to go even with my Lance on the back. Loving my setup. YMMV Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    66mpg, 14" Ground Clearance, 3.2s 0-60mph, 1,800lb Payload, 826ft/lb torque, true 4x4, 66mpg.......

Couldn’t agree more. I see a future with EVs and small super efficient diesel power plants to charge batteries on the go and while parked. The performance will be amazing. Motors are soooo much superior to internal combustion engines in many ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    DIY "Move Bumpers"

I’ve got the welding part. :-) it’s just a matter of heat control. If fitup is good they should go together fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Lets see some full size pictures...

Spare tire is an issue. I’m going to have to travel an hour or two to find a heavy diesel shop that can make a custom 4” exhaust so that it clears the full sized spare. Nobody where I live has the mandrels big enough to work on 4”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    DIY "Move Bumpers"

I really want to do one. Don’t have time to pattern my own but like the idea of welding my own up. Might start with the rear for my F350 as all the fronts are just so big. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Bikes on rear ladder...

Yep. That. Climbing my ladder is a little sketchy. It holds but definitely flexes and I would worry about dynamic loads. Maybe I’m just paranoid but loosing a full suspension bike on the road would suck. The safety line would make me feel better. I’m going with a swing away that can double As...

Educate me on the 3 way RV fridge.

I LOVE my 3 way and loved the one in my last rig. Makes ice cubes all day long and runs for over 6 weeks on a propane fill. I had a nice 12v unit for awhile and loved it BUT.... a few cloudy days just crush a battery/solar system. Everyone’s needs are different but for me a 3 way is the cats...
