I'm only 6'1 and my head is about an inch from the headliner and hits on rough terrain. I was going to cut down the seat mounts but the rears look like a pain to deal with. At your height you would be very uncomfortable in a XJ I believe. I have a lot of $ in mine and I personally love it. I...
Great pics! I to really like that door storage. I believe I saw you heading home last Saturday. Heading east on 70 through Missouri. I said to my girlfriend " look at that BA van, I know that van from Expo" thanks for the link to the awning.
I would bet its the intake gaskets. The plastic with slightly contract when it is cold which is why it only happens then. Ive had a lot of vacuum leaks that i couldnt find with carb/brake clean so i wouldn't necessarily rely on that. If you do the gaskets you should probably also do the knock...
I have an exhaust leak on my drivers side by the engine. Thoughts?
Dorman makes clamps that work great if its 1 of the corner manifold bolts

If you have to get your vehicle inspected im not sure it would pass but it fixed leaks on one i had...
Your work is awesome! Let us know if you start a thread on the bus. Where did u get the skateboard bearings and what size tube did you use, thanks for sharing.
Ive got the same wheels and i believe they're only 7 inches wide not 8. I ran 315 75 16 on stock wheels on a 01 excursion and it rode horribly. The wheels are to narrow for that tire and it ballons the sidewall too much. A 16x10 wheel is a much better size for a 315 or 325.
You need a wheel with more backspacing to run a tire that size. You will rub on the front leaf springs when turning. Unless you run spacers which i wouldnt suggest. Truck looks very nice. Nice to have all the upgrades already. Looking forward to the build.
That is how you attach most aftermarket trans cooler lines anyways. If it for some reason doesn't work, then order the oem line. Should cost leas than 10 for some hose and clamps.
As long as you can get a rubber hose and tight clamp i would try that first. My last xj somehow had the hard lines smashed next to the oil pan. I cut the smashed part out put in rubber fuel hose (forget what size) and clamps and had no leaks. That XJ i did not drive very much i bought it for...
Finally got the Jeep out of the garage and a little dirty on some backroads near property I own. Nothing crazy its Missouri just some single lane gravel roads and creek crossings.
I just used the astro tool the OP linked last week and it worked great. Not much more effort needed than a regular rivet. I used the 3/16 nuts to attach the quarter panel armor on my XJ. I also plan to use the kit on my trailer build.
Are you following Dan Grecs trip? http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/158591-The-Road-Chose-Me-Driving-a-Jeep-Wrangler-80-000-miles-around-Africa-for-2-years
