Ok ok ok! enough already!!! I'll see if I can get it mounted pre turbo then [sulking] I hate peer pressure!:jump::jump::D:jump::jump::jump: But if everybody else is jumping, I'll jump too!

    EGT Gauges

Well I've done some research on the preferred location on IH8MUD amongst other places. Let me stress that I mean preferred, not necessarily the [I]right location. The reason I put it that way is by no means to discard the merits and knowlegde of the sources, or those of you who have written the...

    EGT Gauges

Not that I in any way disregard what you are saying, but I have just bought an EGT meter from one of the most reputable (if the most reputable) instrument companies, namely VDO. And in the installation guide it is pointed out that the probe should be mounted post-turbo?

    Hydraulic clutch in the winter.

Sorry, I did not realize that! IMO it should not behave like that and it is a the dealers problem to fix it. I am sure that it cannot be blamed on DOT 4 fluid as DOT 4 fluid is widely used here and I suspect on Iceland and Greenland too. It should not freeze! I could be sorely mistaken, but we...

Fiberglass diesel tank? Is it possible?

Thanks for the replys about resin and links etc. I will have the supplier here in DK guide me on what to use if we go forward with glassfiber tanks. As someone pointed out at the beginning of this thread it is a lot simpler on a truck like ours where you can see what is going on. We are not...

    Hydraulic clutch in the winter.

As brake fluid is hydroscopic ( pics up water over time) you might just need to change your clutch fluid. I had a similar problem on a HJ60, and changing the fluid helped a lot! Many car manufacturers describe that brake fluid must be changed every other year. no reason to suspect clutch fluid...

Fiberglass diesel tank? Is it possible?

Exactly! I have the same idea for tanks that fit inside the frame rails above the rear axles, but leaves room for the axle articulation. Well i still have a lot to do before I get to the tanks, but research is always good!

Fiberglass diesel tank? Is it possible?

Thanks alot for the answers! As for welding one in steel or aluminium, I am okay at MIG, but not skilled enough in TIG yet. MIG welds are not suited for at tank, they almost always leak. So I would have to have somebody else TIG them. I know that building them from fiberglass might be labour...

Fiberglass diesel tank? Is it possible?

Hi all! I have a question extensive search on the net has not been able to answer. We have an old Volvo C304 / TGB1314 that we have modified to diesel in our quest to make a good expedition vehicle. We have planned to have two 100L (approx. 25 gal) diesel tanks, each located either side between...

    LED Headlights

That's the w140, I drive the W126. But you are right, I have to check in to that, maybe it's just the side windows, who doesn't get iced-over like the front can do? I'll look in to it! Cheers!

    LED Headlights

Just install steam cleaners in stead of the headlight washers :bike_rider: No seriously, that is a problem, I ran in to something similar when I thought about installing double glazing (that is what it is called right?) as the wind screen in our volvo TGB13. I dropped the idea because of that.

    Aussie unimog

I'm sorry, I did not formulate it precisely enough, it was by no means a critique, just that I cannot recall seing one with a wheel base like that before.

    Aussie unimog

I love the out-of-the-box execution, great idea! One Q: isn't the wheel base extremely long???

    Danish Popup Trailer

What can, except a hovercraft? :-) No, you should make another chassis.

    Danish Popup Trailer

We have two manufacturers of those here; Combi-camp and Camp-let. I could easily find good ones for around 1.500 - 2.000 $ if anyone's interested. A wild idea would be a group buy, I load a 20' container with them and ship them to you... (just brain-storming here...)

    Transmission-powered Expedition Trailer

It's just like the normal C303 roofs, only difference is that both the drivers side and the passenger side windows open. I'll post pics when i get it on terrangbil.net, or maybe I should start a build thread here soon...

    Transmission-powered Expedition Trailer

Give my regards to JP, he has a roof with two windows that open that I'm very interested in! Molsø is Fjolle303 or Michael Molsø on terrängbil.net. Not to highjack your thread, but I'm hoping to fire the Toyota up this week, damn I'm exited!

    Transmission-powered Expedition Trailer

I love it Tedd, And it's nice to know you saved it. Actually I just talked to Molsø about you the other day, you have one of the most serious Valps out there!

    Pickled Herring

:victory:  Ahh! finally Danes can be known for something other than danish (which btw is called wienna-bread here)((well, pickeld herring is known all over Scandinavia off course...just rasing the danish flag here...)). Pickled herring is an integral and very important part of any social...

    ICELANDIC 110s?

If I may chime in, IMO Icelandic off roaders are a breed of their own, and second to none. They know what they are doing and don't just slam bigger tires on, they do the whole package, axles, gearing etc. If you notice they manage this without raising the vehicles unnecesarily thus retaining a...
