Yes it is a separate circuit from the 7 pin. I ran a wire from my main battery to the rear of the truck with Anderson Pole Plugs . Then a wire to the Redarc with pole plugs to connect to the truck. now the trailers charges from the truck.
The higher the better. A ditch mount antenna will have the antenna radiating into the roof of the Jeep. Use a longer antenna with a high gain to above the roof .
They are made of slippery nylon so it would have to held on a seated person and slides around/off if trying to use it as a blanket. A wool or fleece blanket will not have those issues.
Those of you without a REDARC system, do not have a trailer battery charging system that CHARGES from the tow vehicle. The 7 pin plug provides a "trickle" charge but will not charge a depleted battery.

I have a 15 qt Engle that I've used as a freezer as well as my 50qt ARB. Both work great. One thing is, since the unit is being used as a freezer, it is pretty much running all the time so it will run the battery down in a day.
It seems that many are obsessed with gas mileage. With the inflated price of fuel it is an issue but I don't think one can have both a capable vehicle and great mileage.
There is one exception:
The lunette rotates up and down in the ring. The pintle needs to rotate . On military trailers , the lunette ring rotates. I posted a link to the rotating pintle.
