    2010 Tundra Build “TRD Ferguson”

All right, but the difference isn't much. If a 3rd Gen Ram can fit up there, so too can a Tundra. I have no idea. I'm just pointing out that many overland-style vehicles travel all over the place with those trailers, including the pass. If those vehicles can figure their way through, I...

    2010 Tundra Build “TRD Ferguson”

If it's the same video I saw where it was a Ram HD (2500 or 3500), then the Tundra should definitely fit, as it is smaller. People go up those roads all the time with offroad trailers, don't they? I would think that would be a lot more difficult than going up with a Tundra. Extended cab would...

I think 3/4 tons have run that pass, no?

    2010 Tundra Build “TRD Ferguson”

Perhaps excepting a select few old county roads in VT or some of the inactive logging skidder trails up in Canada (which are normally dead-ends), a fullsized can go just about anywhere motorized traffic is allowed....the limiting factor will be the owner's tolerance for pin-stripping, not the...

    2010 Tundra Build “TRD Ferguson”

I've gone all over the northeast with a stock 2011 4runner Trail (with A/T tires). I've never gotten into a situation where I need a winch, though I acknowledge a winch would be very good to have for solo travels. I've used my locker only a handful of times, but those were times when I...

    2010 Tundra Build “TRD Ferguson”

ARB locker....at least in the rear. That's a hefty amount of cash and complexity (air lines) but what other options are there for selectable lockers? ATRAC, or auto-limited slip, or whatever the Tundra has is nice in theory. In real tough 4x4 conditions, it has its limitations.

    2019 Ford Ranger Taking Orders

I'm hoping that is not the case....the lighter duty part, not the safety standards. The reported payload is ~1.8k lbs which is better than other midsized trucks. Hopefully that payload # is indicative of the robustness of the design overall.

    66mpg, 14" Ground Clearance, 3.2s 0-60mph, 1,800lb Payload, 826ft/lb torque, true 4x4, 66mpg.......

I'm not going to discount all of your experiences with the Tesla, but I have to dig into the statements below: Is this a feature that you need to be plugged in for? Because it seems like that pre-heat feature might be yet another cause for degraded range in the cold. FWIW, you can also...

    2019 Ford Ranger Taking Orders

You can't really knock TFL for the brevity of their "test." Ford was only letting the public take very short city trips in the Ranger; there will be more extensive "testing" down the road. The TFL guys had limited time and access with the truck; they did their best at giving an initial impression.

Ram 3500- 68RFE or Aisin, help me build!

What recalls? Only one for the current 6.7L's that I'm aware of is the water pump recall. There was a SCR recall, but that was for earlier model years.

Well that's not bad at all, considering what you're hauling in your bed.

I agree that it's a non issue for most people, especially those who are just looking for a commuter. Plugging in your car during long periods of inactivity can probably help mitigate some of the cold weather issues. But for people living, working and exploring (like us overlanders) in the...

Bailey's 2018 Four Wheel Camper (Raven) - Build & Photos

Awesome truck and awesome build! How has the Tundra handled all that weight? How have mpg's been faring?

I kind of assumed that I wouldn't need to, because this issue is common knowledge. But here you go: Tesla owner feedback: https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/cold-weather-range-loss https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/standard-battery-vs-long-range-battery-cold-weather...

And it currently takes a lot of fossil fuel consumption (and pollution) to create electricity....there is no free lunch. At least not yet Way better how? Tacoma's, and all modern Toyota's for that matter, start up just fine in cold winters. They both use lithium ion batteries, correct? So...

Last I checked, Toyota was looking into Hydrogen fuel cell options. Don't know about the other OEM's.

It's also readily available and quick to refuel. Actually modern engines do just fine in the cold...electric batteries not so much. How much cold weather testing did Tesla do in places like Michigan and Alaska? My cell phone battery depletes at the rapid rate in subzero temperatures. I...

Hauling is certainly a good use of a truck. And so is driving through a flooded-out forestry road, going on a 600 mile road trip and starting up in -15F weather for weeks on end....a truck has to be able to do a lot of things reliably. Despite all the media gossip and hype, no one has yet...

    66mpg, 14" Ground Clearance, 3.2s 0-60mph, 1,800lb Payload, 826ft/lb torque, true 4x4, 66mpg.......

Well I agree that a lot of people buy trucks purely for their image and ego. But for people who actually use their trucks like trucks, the reliability and practicality just isn't there yet.
