kind of depends on how deep of snow you are talking about as to whether or not you want skinny tires or fat tires. I agree on highway skinny is better off trail in 5 feet of snow fatter is better.
if you get a chance the center of hub to bottom of flare takes the tire size out of the equation. this also does. might help someone in the future decide. thanks
they were like 31" at most, but doing it in a TJ is going to be so much easier than in a JT. No jamborees for me :) too many people. We were lucky just 3 rigs and nobody else on the trail. When I did the Dust just one other rig and never saw another sole except the guys that were broke down...
I have done the Rubicon and I am actually really impressed. A 2” lift is cheap and a set of 35 or 37’s and it would have done fine. Looks like the stock skids we’re doing what they were supposed to do. Certainly did not do anything to make me not want one.
hence the not apple to apples :) The ST Maxx's that I run are 315/70-17 and are the about the same width as the R/T's35x12.5-17 and also quieter. (I hate tire threads because I have run way too many sets of tires in the last few years it is an addition)
I have done the Rubicon Trail and it is not the hardest rocky trail. not nearly as hard as the dusy ershim but still impressive that they did altho man those rock stackers were getting a work out. should have been wearing back supports. Also I realize they wanted more ground clearance but...
which test was that? Funny thing is the regional warn warranty repair shop said they have had less warranty claims on the VR series than any other Warn. I have a buddy that has a badlands winch and he has made many many pulls and it sounds like it is going to blow up but keeps on going. My...
I think you will find there are going to be plenty of Bison editions out there as unlike some vehicles that get limited status ie only make X amount and that is it. The Bison is not a limited by a specific number only buy how much AEV can supply parts for and I know AEV has ramped up production...
I’m sure it is fine, still the 7.3 will be better at hauling a camper and feel less stressed doing it. I don’t want a diesel and had the 7.3 not been announced I’d probably be fine with the 6.2.
Yes exactly what I want. Not sure how hundreds of thousands got there hands on one yet. For me I doubt there is a better set up. I wish they would hurry up and become available.
yup I would not consider that anything like the 6.2L 400 ft/lbs right off idle and peak at 4K and relatively flat to 6K exactly what I want for toting a camper around running on low grade gasoline..
I freely admit I am a fanboy, I know what I want and this looks to be it. Everybody has different tastes but F250/350 are my favorites and this engine looks to be the perfect engine for my intended uses.
