    Expedition H3

So upon further consideration I decided that the 18ga wire that I ran for the transmission cooler wasn't going to be adequate in the long term for the amps that the fan pulls. I only used it because it was laying around at the time. It's right on the edge of what would work, but I didn't want to...

Installed a license plate relocation bracket, since a Thorparts rear is on the way. The bracket includes a license plate lamp and a little brake light. I tapped into the wiring behind the drivers taillight Brown is the running lamp circuit (license plate lamp) Blue is the brake light circuit...

    Expedition H3

I finished installing a transmission cooler. Since I'm running a PS cooler up front that was albeit poorly located right below below radiator, I decided to do a remote mount trans cooler. This avoids adding more heat in front of the engine radiator and lows the trans cooler to be in a place that...

ince the winch fairlead had to be flipped upside down for the light bracket I figured I would go ahead and upgrade to a factor 55 fairlead.

ne of the mods I did before I finished the panel was installing some aux lighting on a winch fairlead bracket. The bracket was from poison spider, had to slightly drill out the bracket so the 1/2 bolts would fit. These are Diode dynamic ss3 max combo beams. I made a harness for them, all...

Finally finished my switch pros 9100 install. Stopped in the middle mainly since we bought a house and moved. I bought on ebay an early model h3 center console cover that doesn't have the coin tray. Switch pros includes a template for where to drill. There are countless bezel snd other options...

    Expedition H3

his past weekend i worked on installing the switch pros 9100 switch panel. Originally I had collected more traditional rocker switches and a panel for them, and was planning on going that route, but the more research I did, I wound up with this panel. I haven't 100% finished it as the panel in...

Thanks to Josh for the hookup, installed a dana 44 ruff stuff diff cover, the 3/8" thick version. It's pretty hefty. Also put new longer 1 inch bolts in as well.

    Expedition H3

Added 2 more rock lights, mounted them to the skid plate tabs on the thorparts front bumper, since they are of no use to me. Prior to this the front wasn't illuminated very well underneath, so this solves that That makes 8 total underneath the H3.

I also installed an odyssey extreme 34/78 battery This one in particular: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ODY-3478PC1500DT Top part of the factory box becomes irrelevant at this point. I also had to trim part of the bottom to get this to fully seat. I did a similar mod on my 08 alpha years...

    Expedition H3

Going to update alot of stuff here from the past couple of years I've been getting the H3 ready for Moab. Some of the major things as of late, hardwired the CB radio to the battery, rushed through the previous install so it was just plugged into a cig outlet. Also had the steering box rebuilt...

    Expedition H3

So I've been trying to figure out a good place to mount my CB mic, which in my case also contains all of the controls. I didn't want to drill or mount with an adhesive something to the dash. So then I was thinking of something to mount to the daystar panel, as in just screwing something to it...

    Expedition H3

Been working on installing some rock lights, I see them as practical and flashy lol never know when the additional light will be handy on the trail, especially for repairs. I went with the KC cyclone 6 light kit. Comes with everything you need, plug and play really...

Thanks! I can't take credit for the actual build/documentation though. THORparts was the builder, all credit goes to him.

    Expedition H3

This past weekend went down to Windrock ORP in Tennessee with The Hummer Club Inc. Had 3 H1's, 3 H2's, and 7 H3's. Ran a wide variety of trails over the 2 days. Only carnage was a CV shaft and an oil line that came loose and was luckily caught before the engine burned up. Also crossed over 36k...

    Expedition H3

Since CB radios are still very prevalent in the offroad community, I decided to up my game from a handheld and get something small and compact that would work like the big units. In comes the uniden cmx760. Since I have the platform in the back now. I decided to mount it on the underside. The...

    Expedition H3

Hit up Drummond Island Michigan this last weekend with some hummer peeps. Absolutely beautiful, fantastic weather. Trip was largely uneventful, had a ZJ in the group that broke a rear axle shaft, a H3 front driveshaft boot tore and lost all the grease and had to be swapped out. H2 cracked a...

    Expedition H3

I had been working on a rear cargo platform for more storage, especially on longer trips. I decided to take the rear seats outs. FYI they weigh about 90 pounds. This isn't really designed for camping, but more for just storage of gear, parts, etc. I made supports for the platform from 4x4's...
