    Off-road teardrop scratch-build

You might check State law. Here in Indiana, coiled cable is not allowed as safety connection for trailers. Chain must be used with a closed, your choice, attachment link. A chain with s-hook and clip is really a great way to go. Might avoid a ticket somewhere in your travels. Nice build!

    Monstaliner instead of carpet

Yeah after replacing the floor pans I replaced my stock set up with Dynamat and unbacked carpet in my Jeep Cherokee and am considering going back an adding a carpet pad to keep the noise down as it's still a bit to noisy. With just Monstaliner even wheel noise is extremely loud.

    Monstaliner instead of carpet

ALOT! Think of a muffled tin can. Not something you will enjoy over an extended road trip.

    Meet the "Hitch Hotel"

I really like the unit but not the mounting, persay. I'd really like to see it on a wheeled axle being a pull behind expandable camper. The hitch mount looks to be severly limiting the departure angle, especially off road. Definitely will wait for the upcoming info presentation to pass any...

    2008 Ford Explorer comments please

Had an 06 Explorer. The best 4x4 ( mine was AWD all the time) I ever owned. It would go anywhere over anything. Don't really need a lift, just some bigger tires, shocks and rims and your ready to go. Not really mechanically inclined so maintenance was farmed out. Still never spent much on tune...

    Post your tents

Thank you, I want a fiberglass shell RTT but I like the enclosed box idea. Going to try to use 15 inch tires to match the Jeep which will probably require a drop axel to save height. Not building an off road rig just fire trails and gravel roads along with miles and miles of back road...

    Post your tents

Thanks for the oztent head's up. But not what we're looking for. We have several tents presently. We want a hard shell pop up, like the Autohome units for sleeping and using the trailer to haul goods and supplies. We have an enclosed room addition for our ARB awning and need the ability to haul...

    Post your tents

Question for the collective. Does anyone know of a solid shell RTT, like a Autohome, mounted on a, for lack of a better term, ground level trailer. The Wife and myself do not want to climb a ladder to hit the sack and really like the ease of use in a pop top style tent. I'm thinking of a...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Pulled the master switch panel off the door trying to figure out the dreaded XJ window gremlins. While I was at it pulled the door speaker that quit working and found out why. The connecting cone wire is broken. Got tired of screwing with both issues and hit the interweb and ordered a new...

2018 Your Pick: Expedition Base Vehicle Recommendations

Love the final direction you've chose, however. Don't go F150 go at least F250. Your return will be much greater, greater load capacity and a much more "stout" solid feel while driving. I wore out a F150 any my 2002 F250 was like new when I sold it last year with near 200k on it either...
