New here. Build plans, advise needed.

I would only use wheel spacers if the axle widths don't match. Even then, I would be looking to find a matching rear axle. For racks, you might look at some of the construction racks. My E350 came with a nice light aluminum utility rack that could have been easily modified to carry whatever...

    4 link, Coilover, 4x4, e350 Conversion - King / Full Traction

Wondering what "over-engineered" means? Is that like designing a space ship to go to the grocery store?

split axle from f250 1980-1997 front quigley used.

That would be cool and a great educational piece for the 4x4 van consumer. Get Quiqley IFS in there too.

split axle from f250 1980-1997 front quigley used.

wow! thread dug from the depths. I think Agile has proven his systems work well. Doesn't mean just anyone can slap a TTB under a van and expect the same results.

    What interior paneling to use?

Thin plain Masonite is pretty nice stuff to use if your going to cover it. You can bond marine carpet or vinyl fabric on with contact cement for a finished look. Thin plywood sheet looks nice as well. I like maple ply because it has a fairly light color. I'm starting a build on a cube van and...

    09 AWD Express travel van

Mild off-roading would remove it pretty good. :) Just kiddin. It would definitely unfasten, the question is how looks underneath. If the paint is worn, you could have bedliner material applied to the rockers. If you remove it carefully I bet you could get something for it and those wheels and...

New Chev Express 3500 IFS Conversion

Clydesdale, You stated that the GM IFS conversion retains factory wheels. Do you retain the original rear axle as well? Are the front and rear track widths the same after conversion? Seems like on the Fords, people have to swap the rear axle, or use an adapter on the factory rear axle to...

    Express/Savana Sunvisor Shelf

Might be worth ordering the ford one and seeing what it would take to modify to fit the GMC. If it's a no go you could send it back. What does the installation entail?

    GM IFS 4x4 conversion

Bajasportsmobile, You mentioned in another thread that you had spent a little time looking at the Quigley conversion and that their IFS system was limited due to bump stops. Do you have any insights on whether it would be possible to generally improve upon their suspension and increase travel...

    Van heating thread

I had a Webasto Air Top 2000 in my old 2003 E350 RB Diesel with penthouse top. Insulation was that foil backed plant fiber mat stuff bonded to the walls and reflectix panels over the windows. The system ran on an isolated AGM battery (size was what fit in a factory battery box). With the pop top...

Planning to buy Chevy Express AWD

I've heard the stabiltrack feature that some vans are equipped with can be a headache if a sensor goes out. Does anyone have any experience with this?

First time on Expo - Rear locker for Dodge Ram Van

Yep. And if you go with an ARB air locker, you can use the compressor to air the tires back up for pavement.
