Inverter, generator or both... or niether?

Having lived full time more than 5 years my first thought is 100 Watts is no where near enough. How much roof space do you have? Can you fit a 315Watt panel, or two?

    Installation for Hydronic heater

Our system is also tied into the coolant system directly. This is a typical installation. The only failure we have had was a lower rad hose rupture. I clamped off the hose, cut it at the rupture, inserted a piece of exhaust pipe and clamped. Then with the clamps removed and the radiator vent in...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

We have the same can, 1993 MB 917AF. I had it off to get clearance to change the viscous fan. I assumed at the time it had something to do with the exhaust brake, but now I think about it maybe not.

    12v to 24v trickle charger

The other option is a small solar panel and 24v charge controller. However this will not work if covered in Alaskan snow or parked inside. Just throwing in ideas.

Tow Bar vehicle recovery is dangerous!

Pull the receiver pin, remove the draw bar, insert the loop of the strap and then put the pin back so that it catches the loop of the strap. You might be able to bend the pin, but I doubt it. You will remove the danger of the flying tow ball.

Spare tire in front of grill.

We have two spares on our front bumper (lowered by hydraulics). The bumper extends in front of the tires. In Argentina we met a Canadian couple with a front tire mounted on a Tiger similar to what you are proposing. They were forced to remove it because the spare was in front of the bumper and...

    Bedford RL Rail on rail

Pvc is a particularly nasty plastic and should be avoided whenever possible. A "soft" box will be difficult to insulate and install doors and windows. It will offer all the security of a tent. A commercial fridge body is a great option.

    Bedford RL Rail on rail

Mercedes trucks have a similar twisty frame. Mercedes recommend a 3 point mount or a ridged mount. our box is a ridged mount with over 25 years and 400 000 km of use. The box has to be very well built to stand the stresses.

    2 spare tires?

3 extra days in Sucre, great! 3 days in Uyuni, not so much.

    Recirculating Showers?

The problem with UV is the water must be clear for it to work, any particles in the water protect pathogens from the light. Filters for getting that level of clarity will clog and need to be changed regularly. Putting gray water through the system will clog the filters even faster.

    2 spare tires?

We carry two spares but we tend to go to some extremely remote places. For most people, especially in the US, one spare with a compressor should be enough. If you get a puncture, that's it, turn around and get back to asphalt.

Should I Jump on 2007 Mitsubishi Fg140 4x4 for sale?

6 new tires is not a plus since you will want to go to singles, so you will be paying for 6 new tires the wrong size.

    Opinions between Espar and Webasto?

We are on our second Webasto in our truck. The first one lasted 23 years. The second is 7 years old and works without issue. I would add the Planar heater to your list.

    Best heater for extreme altitude

Good point about being at altitude for long periods of time. We try to avoid camping at extreme altitudes (14000') because it is not comfortable to sleep at those heights. When we camped at those heights it was because it was as low as we could get that day. So although our Webasto ran fine at...

    Best heater for extreme altitude

Our Webasto ThermotopC has run fine up to 14000'. Above that it can need multiple start attempts.
