2013: Your favorite image of the year?

like here, the sky actually accentuates the road, and draws you in. take this at 12" off the ground for some bokeh and limit the road to 1/3 of the frame, and BAM. never split a frame 50/50. crop a bit off the bottom of this to get the fence posts on left down towards the bottom.

2013: Your favorite image of the year?

yea. i love the canyon, but i need some sort of reference to make me feel like im going someplace, to pull me into the road and give it some pop. i tried something like that in the badlands, which is PERFECT for that, but my lens limitations killed me as i kept losing the big bright blue sky. i...

    RX1/R, Df, EM1, A7. what to buy?

yea. like i noted, im using an old x-370... and outside of dealing with film limitations, i enjoy pushing the button. i suppose what im doing is trying to find a keeper, and using film as the base line. i think its doable with todays cameras, they are better than film... on the other hand, one...

i want to look up instead of ahead. i think a wider angle cropped would have nailed this one.

2013: Your favorite image of the year?

post #2 from arlon is going to be tough to beat. the likely hood that Scotts Rinos are ground up in some chinamans erection potion is disconcerting and emotional to me, and the picture is of sentimental value, but im not seeing much effort in image composition. arlon, have you tried tinkering...

In the Nikon DF Crossfire - Heart vs. Head

but you want to touch it! if you want to touch it, you;ll want to use it, and take more pictures!!! the only way canon could counter this is by making a camera that is a quality 70's size "C" breast. a classic breast, not bloated like all the fake ones today. one that every man would just love...

    RX1/R, Df, EM1, A7. what to buy?

due to ywens input, i was down to the oly, the a7, and the xe2. while the Df is sexy and the best picture taker, i think im just being myopic with slr familiarity married to old F camera longings. i guess im like rallyroo, i really have to tear myself away from that one, if the cost with kit...

is there a remote possibility of you buying, or are you just kicking tires and bitching while at it? its a custom camper 4wd fuso, so its not like he posted a beat up old jeep for too much money. why bust his balls? he has a price, as per the rules, and he said "email me". so, why bring it...

    RX1/R, Df, EM1, A7. what to buy?

the x-pro1 looks really good on paper, outside of being 2 years old. i wonder if theres going to be an x-pro2 soon. the xe2 looks nice, and is getting great reviews, but lacks the hybrid VF.

    Everyday, do-everything rig camera?

The fact that camera runs old lenses is of use to people that are upgradeing. Maybe. Other than that, who cares? He's spending 300 on a camera. Op, go on b&h photo and pick a few in your budget and come back for opinions. There will likely be people here that have lived with a few firsthand...

    RX1/R, Df, EM1, A7. what to buy?

ive heard the build quality is uninspiring. a bit "hollow". unfortunately, the only real photo shop left in pittsburgh is bernies, and i dont think they carry much digital. i may have to do the B&H buy/return/buy method to get my mitts on one. i hate that ****.

i get you on the split screen focus. at 18 the corps had me at 20/15 or better. i finally went to an ophthalmologist this year and im now 20/25. i guess im right on track. first the hair, then the memory, now the eyes... i still have my teeth but it appears im gonna exit as i came in, blind...

    RX1/R, Df, EM1, A7. what to buy?

im currently shooting with a minolta x-370 and kit 1.8-50... yep, you read that right. a decade ago, i couldnt commit to some 4000 dollar 4 MP dslr, always wondering why the whole shebang couldnt be an affordable slim 35mm sensor and optical view finder, much like what lieca evolved into. (i...

    Black Sidesteps on G

these mount to the inner rocker via the factory captive nuts and are heavy, strong welded steel units. they are definitely stronger than the body part they are attaching to, and i question the wisdom of attaching what is tantamount to a slider to the body only, without bracing to the frame to...

    RMP&O's v8 80-series

shouldnt you then CV or double cardan the prop shaft if you are going to point it at the tcase? you have an angle in the shaft and you need opposing forces as the shaft accelerates and decelerates thru its pivot point. i thought pinon angle was function of the distance to the tcase as well as...
