    3 Wheel Carver

Okay, I know this isn't a dual sport brute but c'mon, you've probably never had this much fun with your clothes on! This little machine is awesome. I want one...I'm telling my wife that it's cheaper than the F-14 Tomcat I've been lusting after  Check it out...

    RV 4x4 Conversion

You should probably check out http://www.sportsmobile.com as well. I have been to their factory in Fresno, it's pretty darn impressive. They doe their own conversions using Dynatrac axles and Atlas transfer cases. Bullet proof combo if you ask me!

    Swing-out tire carrier buildup!!

My vote puts the tire to the right side of the bumper for 3 reasons: 1- When you get a flat you pull off the road, the tire will be accessible from the passenger side, not the traffic side which would present a higher risk of getting hit by vehicle. 2- I have seen many a time when a trailer...

    Outback Challenge: Morocco (Team USA)

Hey, don't forget to psych out your competition...the shaved head crazy american is a good start, don't forget the wrap around Ray Bans under your goggles...but you could always try offending the gastronomical sensibilities of the French, think Fear Factor...okay maybe that won't work, I forgot...

    What about expedition trailers?

BT, Steep indeed. I can't even walk up that stuff without my FiveTennies Grouseman, I have never tried removing leaves from a conventional suspension but the theory makes sense. If I were to experiment with something like that I would probably take out enough leaves to make the suspension...

    What about expedition trailers?

Hey Grouseman, Drop me a line at mario@adventuretrailers.com and we can talk suspension off the thread. I have had some requests from people who would like to put our suspension on their 416's & 101's. As I have told them, it is not a simple bolt on affair like a torsion or leaf spring axle...

Black Mountain Trek, CA (3/31-4/2) Trip Report

I would have happily gone up with my trailer and lockers but I agree with Scott, it would have been difficult for those with open diffs. Looks like Alex got spotted at NY NY on his way to Moab! He called me the other day from the top of Hell's Revenge, he said he was was taking a nap in the...

    Jerry Cans

Well here's the prototype holder. I have to say, it's pretty darn stout with 11 gauge. Probably serve as a skid plate in a pinch :xxrotflma It fits the Scepter cans that is was designed for nicely. It also fit the older Blitz and it checks out nicely with the NATO can. I made a few changes to...

    Waterproofing your vehicle

It's possible to waterproof ignition systems and keep the engine breathing and running but if you get stuck in water (it can happen!), it's almost impossible to keep water from getting in somewhere. After getting high centered on a submerged log in a swamp in Ocala, FL, I learned that having a...

    Jerry Cans

The Mil Spec Scepter can is exactly what we will be using. The CARB compliant nozzle is an add on accessory, I must sell one nozzle with every sale of cans in California. The MFC nozzle also screws on to the same can but I cannot sell them in California or other states that have adopted the...

    Jerry Cans

I have not noticed any problems with leakage or fumes with the Scepter cans any more than I have experienced with Wedco or Blitz cans. One of the problems we face in California (and is being adopted in other states) is the requirement for a special nozzle to reduce emissions lost to the...

    Jerry Cans

I have used metal cans for years but have been frustrated by the upkeep i.e. rusting & denting. I really liked the Scepter cans when I saw them at SEMA last year. They are tough: don't dent and don't rust. Just for giggles we ran over one filled with water and nothing happened. Cool I thought...

anyone here using solar panels to charge?

Here's a look at the dual set up in the nose box my own trailer if you need some ideas. The little black box on the right hand side is a Shell RV-20 charge controller, the inverter is a Xantrex 1500 and the batteries are Lifeline AGM group 31 making a total of 210 Amps. The solar panel I use is...

    Subaru Lifts

Does anyone have experience with lifting and modifying Subarus? I had an '84 Brat that I drove the wheels off of, including a few trips to Baja. Loved that thing, you could get it unstuck with a good shove. Given the upward course of fuel prices, I thought it would be interesting to create a...
