I hate to burst your bubble (and my own), but diesel is a dirty word at JLR NA. I've spoken to a fairly reliable source who has stated JLR has no plans to introduce the diesel in the USA, and instead are going to focus their efforts on PHEV/electrification. IMO, the writing was on the wall as...

Seems like the facts suck for both Jeep and LR camps. We're both better off just leaving facts out of this one lol

LR3 Drivers Door Lock Issues....NO WORKIE

Perhaps I'm just dense...but, the driver's door will never lock manually. The only way to lock the driver's door is via the fob or through the lock button on the dash. If you open the driver's door and try to lock it and then close it, the truck will unlock itself. My key fob is currently dead...

As someone pointed out here before, reliability is relative. The vast majority of failures on modern LRs is due to software issues that oftentimes are easily resolved/self fix. Considering that automobiles as a whole are getting much more reliable, I'd love to see the raw data from these...

Thank you. I was about to put the EXPO censoring tool into overdrive (and possibly get myself banned) with an angry expletive-filled rant absolutely **************** on his arguments, but it seems you did so with a calm tone.

That's mainly due to rarity, and not because they're any good. My brother in law had an H3 and I've racked up quite a few miles in one. They squeak and rattle like nothing else. The Alpha sells for more because it was the only way to get a V8 in an H3. It's all about supply. Go look at ROW...

Funny you say that...This is the precise reason why I won't be buying a new Defender anytime soon, despite really, really, really wanting one. I can't imagine the new Defender as a direct replacement to my LR3. It's not that I don't think a new Defender is as capable as my LR3 (I'm sure it is)...

My concern with the 2.0 gas engine is that it will struggle with a larger than 33' diameter tire.

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Everyone seems to be beating around this bush. I would love to see how an OME +2 HD kit looks in tandem with the SYA kit.

Interesting. Not sure this is entirely accurate when compared to sales data. My reasoning is as follows: Yes, there are way more Jeeps sold in Florida than Land Rovers. However, LR's #2 and #5 (Depending on the month - LR North Dade and LR South Dade) are located in Miami, FL. I'd argue that...

Life With A Supercharged RRS For an Overland Rig

Totally understand. Because the LR3 isn't my DD, it's currently parked and waiting its turn for various repairs.

Life With A Supercharged RRS For an Overland Rig

No point in dumping it. Once you do the chains, you've attacked the main weak point of the 5.0 AJV8. At the end of the day, everything needs some work. Why not ride this one out? If you're still wanting to dump it, let me know and I'd love to chat (Either pre or post repairs).

Agree to disagree. The larger tire provides additional ground clearance and additional capability. As for travel, it doesn't restrict travel except for when the system is maxed out; I imagine rods being important when an SYA style kit comes out for these. Most of the time, you're not running in...

I too have heard comical stories regarding D1/D2's and PDIs. When the D1 first came out, there was a recall because the doors wouldn't latch properly. Customers were coming in on a weekly basis stating that the doors would fly open on them. Obviously, a recall was issued and a stop sale...

LR OEM Accessory: A-Frame Front Bumper Guard VPLAP0022

Guard alone? Not really. You're better off just swapping to an aftermarket steel bumper. Alternatively, there's a tubular bumper guard that LR made for the LR3 that was relatively unloved in the community. I've seen those go for less than $200 depending on who has a leftover one in inventory.

So...how does that work? I'm guessing you wipe your a**es with what he says? After all, he's only one man and you guys seemed to have knocked it out of the park with the TReK D5's. Its hard to imagine that JLR NA wouldn't be ecstatic with the work you guys did on that project.

Hang on...I think you guys have failed to read between the lines. LR feels this way because they are going after the overland dollar. Of course they're going to say that they know how to do it better. Why wouldn't they? I mean, you'd have to be blind to not notice the MASSIVE oem accessory push...
