Spotted an uncommon, crew cab, short bed K2500 in the drive-thru today...
With that said, the most uncommon GMT400 I’ve ever spoted was this Centurion K1500 a few years back. You don’t see one of these everyday!
With crew-cab 1/2 ton, short (and shorter) bed full size pickups being one of...
Sounds great to me @vargsmetal! I’ve done a few cross county trips in smaller box trucks equipped with the 4.8/4L80/85 combo and appreciate the power and mileage of that setup. I remember one particular trip from Kansas back to Washington when I was basically driving the truck pegged to its...
Sounds good! I’ll look forward to seeing the SAS swap here in the future. It’s a ways down the pipe, and I don’t currently need the capability at the moment, but I have thought about the exact same thing for my ‘92 Standard Cab Short Bed K1500: SAS with a ‘78-‘79 8 lug F-250 Dana 44, converting...
I’m agree 100% @vargsmetal, IMHO a lot is lost on Facebook/Instagram and similar platforms for documenting vehicle builds. These forums are great for builds and keep things way more concise and organized, plus communication on a post by post basis is easier to follow then a comment thread...
Awesome work @northfacetraveller! The build looks like it’s coming along great and that things are coming together! Great score on the WhAmbulance L96. That dual alternator set up is interesting! I always wondered how they did that on L/LQ type motors.
Awesome wheel and tire combo too! Sweet...
The Crawlin Cabin is looking great @Atl-atl! A ton of great information in this thread and I'm learning a ton following along. I love the proportions and size of your rig, seems just about right!
I was talking to my buddy today about trucks and about Edger. He told me how his favorite work truck of a long career was a 1997 K2500 with the 5.7 Vortec that he drove as a Sheriff’s deputy for years patrolling the dunes. He got it with 140k hard ex-USFS miles on it and it was used by him hard...
Todays latest braking news, the rear drums from the 9.5 SF were a bit rough, so I dropped them off at the local machine shop. Great service and it picked them up and oh la la! A quick cleanup and coat of paint and they’ll be good to go.
Hey @vargsmetal! Thanks! I appreciate your kind words it and I did get super lucky on finding this particular truck. There's a bit of work ahead, but it's all worth it to me and I'm looking forward to some adventures this summer!
Also, I've enjoyed the heck out of your thread on your '90 K1500...
So, back to a part of this conversation that I haven't seen mentioned (or may have missed)... body width. I have several good friends who's rig of choice are 2005-19 Nissan D40 Frontiers/Xterras. I've worked on these trucks quite a bit at this point with my buddies and can appreciate the...
I just helped a friend install one of eolivas rear bumpers on a 2015 Pro4X and was very impressed at the design and build quality.
Wish I had photos to post, but I’m sure they can be seen somewhere on Club Frontier
