Passthrough cut in and frames fitted to both the cab and body sides for a good weather seal. Next step is to manufacturer the rubber accordion flexibly tunnel to join the 2 halves.
Thanks for your interest, the body was designed with Total Composites based on dimensions i supplied from my truck. The subframe was then designed based on the truck and body drawings by ITB and went through 3 revisions to perfect the design before we entered production. I have to say the...
There is no right or wrong answer here, it really depends on what you want in terms of comfort level and amenities. For us we are wanting more than a small vehicle can give us, speaking from experience of having owned both ;o)
Thanks for the kind words. So far my time has been spent researching, designing and travelling to meet suppliers in both Canada, the US and making connections in Europe. I have 12 hours personal labour invested in the truck so far which covers removal of the original flatbed, super singles...
I am currently building my own Fuso Based Expedition Vehicle, contracting out skill sets i cannot do to professionals, i have a running spreadsheet of costs to date totalling $140,000 CAN $20,000 of that so far is contracted labour and the rest is truck and component/material costs. I have...
Based off drawings it should be 3.103M but will be double checking on the real thing to program the GPS for low bridges etc..... The truck will likely get a little higher when the Australian SSA shocks, springs and bushings get added ;o) See https://ssa.com.au/solutions/japanese-truck-suspension...
Latest build pics updates.... Arctic Turn Windows fitted, new seat mounts in place, rear bumper with swing arm a 2" receiver added.
Next steps: The articulated passthrough, wiring for lighting and heated seats, entry door and roof escape hatch fitting.

More details to come for sure as the build unfolds, next step is wiring, we are installing 720Watts of solar with a Full Victron System and Lithium Battery bank ;o) Will post more as we progress ;o)
Real progress on the build this week, kinetic sub frame in place, body mounted, and new seat mounts almost complete. Still lots to do but getting there
Glad to hear it, I hope it inspires others to take the leap and build their dream rig ;o) Right now I don't have anything concrete for the interior set out other than some ideas on what will go where which is rear queen bed raised with storage underneath, walkthrough bathroom with composting...
