    OVRLND camper topper

The concept you guys are working on is great. I appreciate the full pop up vs. the wedge. I also like the weight savings vs. something more substantial like a FWC and the impact to payload. Your platform offers a lot of flexibility in terms of build out preferences.

FWC; major design changes, issues, and value?

Ya...Woodland is 20 minutes away from Sacramento, but thanks for the clarification. Sacramento is a more recognizable location than Woodland, Ca. As for people waiting for a camper. FWC and ATC (and let's be honest they are basically the SAME!) are pretty much the only game in town for an...

    GFC vs. Vagabond

The one Lactic posted above. That was an awesome build if you check out his build thread. Very innovative. If he ever goes in business I'll be buying one for my truck!

    F150 Build Plan

You know that may have to do with being Ecoboost trucks. You may be right.

    6.0 Trustworthyness

Had a 2006 6.0 and I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Had 2 small items fail that left me stranded, the FICM failed and the ICP sensor. Both ruined some vacation time. That was enough for me. I went back to gas after that. First and foremost the vehicle has to be able to get there...

    F150 Build Plan

I'd do the heavy duty side runners before the front bumper. Money better spent IMO. Unless you live in an area where animal strikes are common I suppose. Otherwise you can still mount a winch inside your stock front bumper or at least I can on my 2013. I would think you could on yours as well.

FWC; major design changes, issues, and value?

Would you buy it for the price of a 2018 Tacoma? That's the catch. Perhaps you would. It was a good truck.

FWC; major design changes, issues, and value?

Meh...when you're starving, crumbs will seem like a banquet. Well that's what makes America great. If upgraded propane and plumbing lines seem like a leap forward for you well then there you go, FWC has what you're looking for. Battery and solar upgrades people have been doing on their own for...

FWC; major design changes, issues, and value?

And no disrespect toward you or owners of FWC, but frankly owners don't always present an objective view point. Owners have a vested financial interest and generally promote the genius of their decision typically overlooking short comings. This goes for everything by the way, not just truck...

FWC; major design changes, issues, and value?

My biggest hang up with FWC is that they seem to be getting by on a design from 25 years ago yet still charging modern day prices. Even though they are still very reputable I feel like they've benefitted from a lack of competition in the segment of lightweight pop up truck campers built for off...

    GFC vs. Vagabond

Watching this thread closely with the hope of making a purchase after Spring Overland Expo next year. I'm hoping there will be other options by then. I like OVRLND full pop up, but it seems very unfinished for the price and seems like it would be a condensation nightmare. I've liked what I've...

    Fabricated Rear Bumper with Swingouts

That set up is exceptional and $800 is truly a bargain. What kind of truck is it attached to? Do you have any pictures of your whole set up?

    Decisions Decisions.

Well after 20 years of sleeping in tents or on the sleeping platform in our truck bed the wife said, "ENOUGH!" Got to keep the wife happy to keep the peace if you know what I mean. That being said, I spent 2 nights in the trailer Thanksgiving weekend in Mojave...let's just say I'll be sleeping...

    Decisions Decisions.

To all you joksters out there... That trailer is less! 28 feet bumper to tongue, that hauls myself, the wife, the dog, and 2 dirt bikes, 5k dry and 7k wet. Think that's big? Then you obviously don't get out much. There are some absolute monstrosities out there, 45 foot 5th wheels with 4...

    Decisions Decisions.

I often find myself in the "less is more" camp. From towing my Side Loading Toy hauler, to driving White Rim Road in Utah, to back country camping in Death Valley, hauling my dirt bikes on the weekend and my daily commuter, my 5.0 F150 has impressed me around every corner. 5.0, 36 gallon fuel...

Traded Tacoma for '16 ecoboost F-150. Heresy?!

I've been rolling my 2013 FX4 crew cab, 5.0 since new and it's been flawless. F150's are great platforms to start from and with only light modifications are very off road worthy. Did a Utah road trip last and did Canyonlands White Rim trail and it was great. Payload, 36 gallon fuel tank, room...

To shell or not shell... That is the question...?

Keep it. I built a rolling cradle which holds it on it's side. When I need to take it off I put it in the cradle and roll it to my side yard of my house. I find the shell to be quite useful and have it on my truck about 3/4 of the year. I also have rental property and store tools, supplies, etc...

3/4 Ton question- DIESEL 7.3l?6.4?6.7?Duramax?Cummins? for family rid and DD

I went through this a few years back. A good source of relatively unbiased fuel comparison is www.FUELLY.com. You can separate vehicles my make, model, year, cab configuration, and engine (gas or diesel). There's literally hundreds of thousands miles of fuel consumption records. You'll get a...

    Canyonlands NP (White Rim Road)

Weather was actually quite unpredictable. It stormed with high winds and rain a few nights, was cold at times, and sunny and warm other times. Locals told us that it was unusually cold for this time of the year and to expect anything and everything in terms of weather. Weather aside I will...
