John at All4Wheel. His shop is a few miles south of the 91 off the 15 freeway. He works on all makes and models, but focuses on 4x4 rigs. Very talented mechanic.

    Salt and Pepper shaker recommendations?

I use this one with good success. It feels a little overkill, but it works and is compact But I also usually have a set of disposable one from Morton around in one of my camp kitchen boxes too:

    Intro & build thread '99 Gen 2.5

Sorry for the non-timely response, but the baseplate might be handy. I helped someone swap a white ball shifter between a 98 and a 99, and the baseplates were different size! We ended swapping the baseplates too. Easy to do, but caught me by surprise.

    Montero gen 2.5 headlights compatibility

Someone with a Gen 2 took my Gen 2.5 headlamp housings and gave me his old ones. I was not aware of any harness issues. The swap was straightforward. I only did the swap because mine is heading for the crusher.

Lola - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Looks great. Absolutely love that front bumper. My son just bought a 2001 GC with the 4.7L V8. It has 200,000 miles on the chassis, but the motor only had 100 miles on it after a fresh rebuild. That was Friday. A couple days later, the motor burped up its head gasket. Darn it! There goes...

    Stereo Upgrade Issues...

To the OP, I think the original Infinity system is a 2 ohm system....but I wouldn't bet my life on that. It's just what I recall it being, without remembering why I recall that or where from.

    Stereo Upgrade Issues...

I have the OEM 1998 Infinity stereo head unit and amp from my Monty just sitting on a shelf. It worked fine when I pulled it out. Also the CD changer unit too. I also have the JVC unit that I replaced it with, and the new amp. The JVC has Bluetooth and external mic units. The amp is...

    Anyone Regreting downsizing?

Have you considered a mid size truck? If you like trucks, try a smaller one. Rent a Tacoma or Frontier or Colorado for a weekend and see if that will work for you. Or try Turo.com

ExPo Videos: Post your videos here!

Really nicely done....Not sure how that got you towards Overland Expo, but those are fun routes to take! As a minor suggestion on the video, I think it would be good to maybe include more map scenes, with you connecting the dots point to point, instead of just highlighting the different parts...

New Member Montero 2.5 Gen Upgrade Advice Needed

Northridge might be local to you, but they are one of the largest online off road parts retailers in the nation. Extremely well known in the Jeep community. Doing a body lift is very easy. You can do it in your driveway with a decent lift jack and a few blocks of wood. Montero's are very...

KO2's are fantastic tires. No opinion on size or price, just a great tire. I like the Big-O-Tire franchise. Has always been good to me, but it may not be the cheapest. 4WD Parts often has a buy 4 get 5th tire for free deal. Lots of people buy tires online at TireRack.com too. Their...

Because the left side panels were claimed by a local forum member :-) Here's the thread that might answer your question more thoroughly: http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/168688-1998-Montero-Gen-2-5-with-locker-SoCal

So, did you want that right rear inner door panel? I don't have the left side panels anymore, but I have the right side ones. Shipping would be interesting. Would have to build a custom box for that.

Junk Yards are your friend. Find a Montero from just about any year between 92 and 2001 and you'll be able to pop in new door cards. I've got a right rear I'd give you, free plus shipping. Exact color.

    Apple WWDC 2017 Announcement Discussions

KoJack, I agree, the Surface portables are pretty solid, though battery life has been a constant complaint, as well as screen resolution (fonts too small for my users). They still are nowhere near the machine an iPad Pro or MacBook Air are, with the exception of the desktop Surface Studio...

    Apple WWDC 2017 Announcement Discussions

Okay, I guess I was somewhat wrong on the Mac Pro.....They did release one, sort of. It just wasn't what I was expecting. An iMac Pro is hardly the expandable, reconfigurable, updatable power computer I was looking for. It's just a rev'd up iMac, for $5,0000. Yikes. That's a lot of coin for...

    Apple WWDC 2017 Announcement Discussions

Well, I am pretty disappointed with today's unveiling of.......minor improvements. No iPhone 8 (yet) No MacPro MacBookAir gets a speed bump only MacBookPro does not get any useful prosumer features, ports, or expandability iPad Pro gets a normal size little brother, with 500GB. Useful to...
