    Custom permanent water storage?

X2. The custom tank I have in mind would cost a fortune to have someone else make it. I don't know if you're in the US or not but here is contact info for us on the west coast: Ernie Alcorn Assembly Supplies Company 1250 Pacific Oaks Place, Suite #104 Escondido, CA. 92029 Telephone...

    Custom permanent water storage?

I have had the rear seat combo out of the rig for quite some time and my measurements show that there is plenty of room for 15/20 gallons. The access is directly behind the front seats so when you open the clamsheell door, there is the tank (though hidden). All along, the tank I either buy or...

    Custom permanent water storage?

We have just returned from 8 days in Utah and this trip clearly defined several issues that I need to address. When time permits we like to be out that long or longer. On this trip we used 20+ gallons of water and containers are a PITA. We don't have to refuel in that time and we don't want to...

Laptop GPS - more reliable and stable?

my .02 Bought a Garmin 76csx a couple of years ago and navigated with it for awhile. Then bought a laptop, built a rock solid computer mount - slaved the GPS to Nat Geo TOPO and have had no problems ever. My navigator (wife) views the screen leaving me to drive or vise versa. You can draw...

    FJ Cruiser Fender Bulge

My 2 cents: I know of one FJ (not mine) that has had bulges in both fenders for years. The owner has lived with them, wheeled normally and have had no issues with them. Me, my FJ had them, I took it into the dealer and they fixed them, both sides, with nary a whimper. Love my FJ. Gary

1915 Model T Roadster in Alaska

Just came across this - pretty amazing trip. http://www.jessicaryanphotography.com/DigitalScrapbook/Alaska2009/AboutTheCar.htm The dedication some people have is part of what keeps me going. Originally on another forum someone found the car on streetview on Google Earth. --...

Baja Medical Emergency, Hooked in to Help

Awesome job - and the goodwill will go a long way for PR. You had quite the crew with all of the medical experience along for the ride. Please don't take this wrong, but could you have pushed the hook through first, cut it off and then pulled it out. It seems that in the deep recesses of...

    Moab/Canyon Lands spring 2010 with plan B's

Very nice write up and pics. I've been into The Maze but not any other part of Canyonlands. Looking forward to visiting all of it. The wife and I don't mind going out alone, but with others along, there is more of a sense of security. Do you have a SPOT or any other device that you have for...

    Question for FJ owners

Item 1: we had a lab/shephard mix and she voiced no issues with ventilation.:) Remember there are ventilation ducts under each seat that directions hot/cold back there. I put a convex mirror on each side mirror and have had no problems. We have over 56 thousand miles on ours and I still...
