I hope I don't need more then 2.5" I do not want that much lift. I am going to do a measure from the hub to fender to compare against your measurements. The dif drop is going to happen regardless as it is easy to do and doesn't sacrifice much ground clearance.
I'll keep you posted. It isn't...
Yup, I do have them sitting on my bench. I am going to wait until I have my rear springs in and then see which direction to go. I have a feeling they are going to be to much lift without doing some other front end work, like dropping the dif, and maybe different CV axles.
Looking good!!
I might have to take out my bilsteins and crank them to the top notch. I was hoping my Toyos wouldn't rub at the second setting down, but they do. Even after modding the pinch weld. Are your measurements from the center of the hub?
Having been there twice and never had an issues with tires I think the key is a large side wall and lower tire pressure. If you run at 40 psi with a low pro tire you are asking for trouble. I went up on a set of michelin XMLs and a set of Toyos. No issues. Took one spare. (also had...
I am planning on using a set of J bolts in the factory pockets. There are many holes to choose from. Not sure on the strength but it feels pretty solid and I torqued down fairly hard. It's that or drill through the rails (which I didn't want to do unless I have to) Any other suggestions?
Thanks, I don't know about skills, but I do like building things!
Thanks to JP's Indoor Iron Sales I was able to get this done on the weekend. The RTT is going on it to fold out the back. The reason it is so high is the ARB Simpson tent has a vestibule and we want to be able to use the space...
Got the sliders on. Debadged the passenger side and painted the mirror (good for at least 2mpg) If I could only find a nice honey comb grill to match the bottom bumper vent I would get rid of all the chrome. Weekend project is to start working on the bed rack for the RTT!
This has not been my experience. I am using a set of Rock Crawler 6x5.5 steelies on my 06 and the dish is not deep enough and has caliper clearance issues without some serious grinding or with the use of a 1/4" spacer
None of my 6x5.5 wheels worked (but do on my Land Cruisers)
Truck looks good!
It's in the works, but as a long term project. I think I will go with a scratch build though... Jen is going to KILL me. This is her truck...:smiley_drive:
As for pics of the trailer, it's a pretty straight forward CDN M101 inside with a SOA and Cruiser hubs, custom fenders, custom...
That doesn't make sense on the LSD?? Not sure what you have back there but I have never heard of an electronic LSD. How do you know it's not working in 4wd?
BTW, Limited slip difs suck most of the time. Actually, I don't know when they are a good thing. Save your pennies and buy and ARB...
No real updates to report. I had to trim the pinch weld and relocate the bolt because my Toyos where rubbing on the body.
Powder shop screwed up the primer on on my sliders and there was no intercoat adhesion with the topcoat. That's getting fixed today. I hope to have them back for the...
